NEW YORK — Megan Thee Stallion won’t take the mainstage in Central Park next weekend as originally planned.

The Grammy Award-winning hip-hop superstar has pulled out as a co-headliner of the 2023 Global Citizen Festival, which is scheduled to take place on Sept. 23 at the Great Lawn in New York City.

“Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival,” event organizers told Billboard on Tuesday.

Megan Thee Stallion was announced in July as one of the humanitarian-focused festival’s headliners alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lauryn Hill.

Last week, chart-topping BTS singer Jungkook joined the lineup of the star-studded concert, which will also feature performances from Conan Gray, Anitta, DJ D-Nice and K-pop band Stray Kids.

Gayle King, Bill Nye, Padma Lakshmi, Carmelo Anthony, Rachel Brosnahan, Connie Britton and Sophia Bush are scheduled to make appearances throughout the show.

Tickets to Global Citizen are free, and can be earned by downloading the Global Citizen app or visiting GlobalCitizen.org and taking action on a series of the campaign’s issues. This year, the advocacy organization is “urging governments to take action and address the systemic issues perpetuating extreme poverty.”

Global Citizen Festival will be broadcast on ABC and available for streaming on Prime Video, Hulu, YouTube and more.
