Megan Thee Stallion Owns Her Truth, Sheds Her Past In “Cobra” Music Video

The anticipation that Megan Thee Stallion had bestowed upon her fans is finally over as the music video to her new single “Cobra” has arrived.
In the Douglas Bernardt-directed visual, Meg tells a story about her past from over the years — which includes: losing her parents and grandmother, experiencing a breakup with ex-boyfriend Pardison Fontaine, concluding a three-year case over being shot in the foot, and also settling a lawsuit with her former 1501 label.
She raps, “Breakin’ down and I had the whole world watchin’/ But the worst part is really who watched me/ Every night I cried, I almost died/ And nobody close tried to stop me/ Long as everybody gettin’ paid, right?/ Everything’ll be okay, right?/ I’m winnin,’ so nobody trippin’/ Bet if I ever fall off, everybody go missin.”
A “re-born” Megan emerges from a venomous Cobra as she not only sheds her old skin, but also her past. She’s standing in her “truth” as she mentions being “depressed,” not being able to trust people, and even catching an ex of hers receiving fellatio in her home.
“Never thought a bi**h like me would ever hit rock bottom/ Man, I miss my parents, way too anxious, always cancel my plans/ Pulled up, caught him cheatin,’/ Gettin’ his d*ck sucked in the same spot I’m sleepin’/ Lord, give me a break, I don’t know how much more of this sh*t I can take,” she candidly raps.
“Cobra” follows the Houston Hottie’s recent release “Out Alpha The Alpha” from Dicks: The Musical, in which she also stars in. The film premiered on Oct. 6.
The 28-year-old recently spoke on new music to come with Billboard.
“This part of my album is very much so funded by Megan Thee Stallion because we’re trying to get off… Y’all know what’s the tea. But I have no label right now,” she said. “We’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. So, the budget is coming from me. Motherf**king Hot Girl Productions!”
She added, “The next sh*t y’all about to see is all straight from Megan Thee Stallion’s brain and Megan Thee Stallion’s wallet. We are in my pockets, hotties, so let’s do our big one.”
