Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly called off their engagement last month after nearly four years of dating. In the wake of their split, it seems like Fox is content being single for now, or at least that's what can be surmised from dating advice she recently imparted to fans.

While at the Coachella music festival over the weekend, the 37-year-old sat down with E! News, where she was asked what advice she would have for any ladies who are planning to have a single summer this year.

"I don't know if I'm the best person to give advice because my advice is like, just learn a skill or develop a hobby and do not waste your energy on boys," Fox said in the clip, which she shared to Instagram on Sunday. "All they’re gonna do is drain you. Just move on, invest in yourself."

Interestingly enough, the plot thickened when MGK weighed in with a since-deleted comment that simply said "PREACH" in all-caps. Unfortunately for him, the comment was preserved for posterity by the Comments By Celebs Instagram account, which quickly posted a screen grab.

Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, went public about their relationship in June 2020 just weeks after the Transformers actress appeared in the music video for his song "Bloody Valentine." They became engaged in January 2022 when MGK proposed with a unique engagement ring featuring thorns so it would literally hurt her to take it off, and then the couple promptly drank each other's blood.

Fox revealed that they had called off their engagement during a March 20 appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.

"I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption," she explained, via Billboard. “I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se. What I can say is [he] is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul’ and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what."
