One of the UK underground’s proudest musical exports, UK garage has been around in one form or another for over 30 years now and it’s birthed more than its fair share of icons. Now as popular as its ever been, one of its leading lights, So Solid and S9 founder, Megaman is celebrating the genre with a massive, five-city UK arena tour in collaboration with touring company Triple A.
Joining him across the five dates will be 30 of UK garage’s best and brightest, threading together all the different eras and iterations that have kept it so fresh all this time. The run of arena shows starts in Glasgow on June 21 followed by further dates in Birmingham (June 22), Cardiff (June 23), London (June 24), and Manchester (June 25).
Speaking on the tour, Megaman says: “Besides being an artist, I’m such a fan of the music; a genre created right here in the UK, which has gone on to achieve an incredible amount of No. 1 hits and platinum-selling records, and I’ve always wanted to see it concert style. This arena tour we have here is the first of many plans and ideas we want to execute with the brand. It’s an exciting project for us. Let’s see what the future brings.”
Besides an appearance from UKG lynchpin DJ Spoony, an official lineup hasn’t been one hundred percent set in stone, but a quick look at Mega’s Instagram can give you a pretty good idea of who you can expect to see on stage.
Tickets go on sale from January 20 and you can sign up for pre-sale tickets here.
