Rupert Friend has been cast in the next Jurassic World movie.

The British actor is best known for his role in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City. He also starred as Agent 47 in 2015’s Hitman: Agent 47, and featured in 2005’s Pride and Prejudice with Keria Knightly. Most recently, Friend acted opposite Ewan McGregor on Star Wars Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi as the Grand Inquisitor.

Friend’s role in the movie hasn’t been detailed yet, but he’s the third actor cast after leads Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey.

It’s the fourth movie in the Jurassic World series, after 2015’s reboot, and the seventh movie overall. Gareth Edwards directs after flexing his blockbuster credentials with The Creator, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Godzilla.

Made by Universal Pictures, there’s a link back to the 1993 original in David Koepp. He wrote the script for both Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and returns as a writer for the next installment.

Universal is aiming for a Jurassic World 4 release on July 2, 2025.
