Meet the 2024 maids and dukes of the Mystic Krewe of Zeus

Members and guests of the Mystic Krewe of Zeus gathered recently to crown King LXXXIII and his queen and present the 2024 Maids and Dukes of the Royal Court.

Maids of the court

Carmen Janae Brown is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jerome Brown II.  She is a recreation therapy major at Jackson State University.  At JSU, she is a member of the varsity cheer squad, the girls’ coalition and the Therapeutic Recreation Association.  She attends West Point Baptist Church and was escorted by her father.

Addison Blair Dyess, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Grant Dyess, is currently in the diagnostic medical sonography program at Pearl River Community College. She is a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in health science.  While at USM, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority where she served as Vice President of Learning Development and served as Alumni Relations Chair.  She also represented Lamar County in the Miss Hospitality pageant where she was awarded the Lake Little Spirit of Hospitality Scholarship. She attends First Presbyterian Church and was escorted by her father.

Abigail Marie Farris is the daughter of James Adam Farris and Misty Medina Farris. She is an animal science major at Mississippi State University.  At MSU, she works for the Bearden Dairy Research Center, is a member of the pre-vet club and animals in focus, and she volunteers at the American Quarter Horse Association. Her father escorted her.

Clara Jane Granberry, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Senton Granberry, Jr, is an integrated marketing communications major with a public relations specialization and business minor at the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, she is Vice President of Standards for Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, on the Ole Miss Rebelettes Dance Team, a member of the Columns Society and Miss University 2024. She attends Main Street United Methodist Church and was escorted by her father.

Madeline Randolph Hinton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Everett Hinton Jr., is a biology major at the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, she is in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, serves as technology chair for Delta Delta Delta Sorority, a member of the Women in Dentistry Society where she has served as secretary and director of communications and serves with Grove Grocery on the community outreach committee. She attends University Baptist Church and was escorted by her father.

Virginia Hyde Hopson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Walter Hopson. She is a library sciences major at the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, she is a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, recipient of Hattie Hardy and Asbury Foundation Scholarships, a Dean’s List Scholar and a President’s Scholar. She attends Main Street United Methodist Church. Her father escorted her.

Kaitlyn Ivey Kindel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scotty Matthew Fletcher. She is an elementary education major at the University of Southern Mississippi.  Her great, great grandfather, Joseph Durward Lewis, was Zeus XXVII.  Her great grandfather, Thomas Ivey Hughes, was Zeus XLVII and her cousin, Patricia Chandler Speed Finnegan, was Queen to Zeus LXVII, Ted Johnson Webb, Jr.  She was escorted by her grandfather, Thomas Durward Hughes.

Sarah Crosby McKay, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Allen McKay, is an art history and creative writing major at The University of the South, better known as Sewanee.  While at Sewanee, she was inducted into the Order of the Gown in 2020, received the Ecce Quam Bonum Award and Sewanee Arts Fellowship, a member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams with scholastic honors and serves as Chair of Standards for Phi Kappa Epsilon Sorority. Her father escorted her.

Madeline Davis Molpus, a nutrition and dietetics major at the University of Mississippi, is the daughter of Dr. William Mark Molpus and Amy Harrison Molpus. At Ole Miss, she is on the chancellor’s honor roll, a member of Chi Omega, an 1848 scholarship recipient and a member of the Student Dietetics Association. She attends Main Street United Methodist Church and was escorted by her father.

Abigayle Roberts Talbot is the daughter of Julie Roberts Talbot and Dr. Paul John Talbot. She is a dietetics and nutrition major with a minor in chemistry at the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, she is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Vice President of the Pre-Dental Society, the Career and Personal Development Chair of Chi Omega Tau and a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. She attends Heritage Church. Her father escorted her.

Dukes of the court

Jackson Forrester Graham is the son of Mark Graham and Wendi Graham.  He is a biomedical engineering major at Mississippi State University. At MSU, he is a member of the Shackouls Honor College. He attends Indian Springs Baptist Church.

Caleb Graham McCarty, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Morgan McCarty, is a finance major at Mississippi State University. While at MSU, he serves as President of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, is a Dean’s List Scholar and a National Merit Scholar. He attends Temple Baptist Church.

Dylan Matthew McClain is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Matt McClain.  He is majoring in biology with a minor in computer science at the University of Alabama. He will start medical school at the University of Mississippi in August of this year. At Alabama, he is a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, has been on the President’s List the entire time he has been there, and a member of Project Health and microbiology research. He attends Temple Baptist Church.

Jackson David McGee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sean Patrick McGee, is an accounting major at Mississippi State University. At MSU, he is a Roadrunner, Recruitment Chairman and Derby Day Chairman for Sigma Chi Fraternity, and is on the President’s List and the Dean’s List. He attends Main Street United Methodist Church. His grandfather, Lawrence Wayne Warren, is Zeus LXV.

Gray Spivey Phillips, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Preston Phillips, is a public policy leadership major at the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, he is on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, is the Philanthropy Chairman and Secretary for Sigma Nu Fraternity, a member of the Sally Barksdale Honors College and a counselor at Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp. He attends Main Street United Methodist Church.

Layton Thomas Pitts, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Gerald Pitts, is a nursing major at the University of Southern Mississippi. At USM, he is a founding father member of Sigma Chi Fraternity where he serves as Vice President, a member of the Christian Nurses Fellowship, chairman of the Sigma Chi golf tournament that raises money for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation and serves as a counselor and staff member for Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp.  He attends Carterville Baptist Church.

William Michael Reno, the son of Dr. and Mrs. William Reno, III, is an accounting major at the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss, he is an academic merit scholarship recipient, a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity where he served as head Philanthropy Chair, an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the 1848 scholarship. He attends Venture Church.

Williamson John Shappley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mark Shappley. He is a supply chain logistics and marketing major at Mississippi State University. At MSU, he is a member of Kappa Alpha Order and is on the President’s List and Dean’s List.  He is a volunteer for Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp and works with Tim Tebow’s night to shine. He attends Temple Baptist Church.

Caden Edward Zaremba is the son of Edward Paul Zaremba and the late Christina Leigh Scruggs Zaremba and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Clarence Scruggs. He is a business administration major at Mississippi State University. At MSU, he serves as Mental Health Chair for Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  He attends First Presbyterian Church.
