Medic Rushed in for ‘Chopped Junior’ Injury

On Chopped Junior, the young contestants prepared circus-themed appetizers, including corn dogs, avocados, corn on a stick, and cookies. Everything was going fine for 11-year-old Tanner Waxman until his finger met the wrong end of his knife while he was slicing onions for his guacamole. A medic was on-hand and took Tanner to the sink to tend to the cut. The clock was still ticking, and Tanner worried that he was going to get chopped — this time in a metaphorical sense.

Fortunately, he finished his appetizer and advanced to the entree round, throughout which he maintained a positive attitude, saying, “I’m a huge fighter, and I won’t stop no matter what.” He was eventually chopped.

Chopped Junior airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Food Network.
