Fresh off the heels of his Urban Hang Suite Cruise, Maxwell is planting his feet back on dry land with the announcement of his new tour, The Serenade Tour. He will joined by special guest, Jazmine Sullivan, and supporting act, October London.

The 26-city run will touch down in most major cities starting on Sept. 14 in Hollywood, Fl., before making stops in Brooklyn, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, and more before its conclusion in Los Angeles on Oct. 27. This tour marks a reunion between Maxwell and Jazmine, who joined him on his Maxwell 08 tour—which was his first major tour in six years following his Now Tour from 2001-2002. The two also recently headlined the 2024 Jazz In The Gardens festival in Miami Gardens.

It also seems that Maxwell may be hinting that his highly-anticipated new album, blacksummers’NIGHT, is set to arrive this fall, according to his cryptic caption shared with the tour announcement. The Puerto Rican-Haitian heartthrob wrote, “This fall but before that mmmm hmmm.” However, a set release date for the LP has not been confirmed.

He first announced the conclusion to his blacksummers’night trilogy would be coming back in November 2021 when he released his single, “OFF.”

Back then, he told VIBE that his goal for blacksummers’night is to “bring that love.” Adding, “To bring that universal love, to bring that Black love, that Brown love, that Latin love, that Caribbean love, that African love. Love. L-O-V-E-E-E-E […] this new album is about celebrating love.”

Maxwell recently shared with AP that it’s an album about “true intimacy,” explaining, “It’s a journey into vulnerability, and it just ties up the Trilogy in a way that represents eroticism in a very mature way. Because I see a lot of eroticism happening, but I don’t necessarily feel like those people make me feel like they’re sexy — they make me feel like they’re sex objects. If you want to write lyrics that are very graphic…do what you want to do. I don’t do that — I believe in romance.”
