Max Greenfield knows how to plan a precious Friendsgiving.

On Nov. 19, the New Girl actor and his wife, Tess Sanchez, hosted a Furry Friendsgiving at their Los Angeles home. Like a traditional Friendsgiving, the couple's attending friends, including Malin Akerman, Lukas Gage, Zachary Quinto, and Dylan Mulvaney, enjoyed a Thanksgiving-themed meal ahead of the holiday. In a furry twist, the party also included canine guests.

Human attendees were encouraged to bring their dogs to the Friendsgiving celebration, which Greenfield hosted with Ollie to celebrate the fresh dog food's brand arrival at Petco stores. While the pet parents enjoyed traditional Thanksgiving fare, the canine attendees were treated to pet-safe food options made with Ollie products and plenty of goodies like custom dog bowls and caricatures.

Among the canines enjoying the event was Greenfield and Sanchez's pooch, Darlene, whom the couple adopted from Los Angeles-based rescue Wags and Walks in July. Before moving in with the pair, Darlene was at the rescue for over 400 days, waiting for a home.

"We are thrilled to share that after 400 days (!!) in our care, our beautiful girl Darlin has found her forever home with one of our favorite rescue advocates," Wags and Walks posted about the adoption in July, adding "According to them, 'Darlin is a million-dollar dog. We knew she was the one the first day we brought her home!'"

To help other shelter dogs find a dream match like Darlene did with her famous family, Ollie donated funds to Wags and Walks on behalf of all the Furry Friendsgiving guests. While Greenfield and Sanchez mingled with the animal lovers at Furry Friendsgiving, Darlene ensured all the pups were having a good time.

Darlene and her four-legged Friendsgiving guests aren't the only pets enjoying the holidays in a home. Elvis, a Chicago-based rescue dog, recently found his forever home with the help of thousands of online fans.

The dog first rose to viral fame on Nov. 14, when The Anti-Cruelty Society posted on Facebook about the pooch, sharing that Elvis was the only dog who didn't find a home through the shelter's recent adoption event. The post received over 2,900 reactions and 6,500 shares. Animal lovers' response to Elvis' story brought the pup to the attention of Loren Michael Agron and his partner Drew Wilhelm.

The couple applied to adopt the dog and were found to be an ideal match for the rescue dog, especially since Agron used to work as an Elvis impersonator.

"His adopters had been waiting for the right time to welcome a dog into their family, and once they saw Elvis on the news, they couldn't deny that it was fate!" the Anti-Cruelty Society posted about the Elvis' adoption.
