Any fan who watched the latest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills knows that the separation of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky was a hot topic. The 55-year-old reality star wasn’t very forthcoming about what was happening in her marriage while she was hanging out with country star Morgan Wade. Now, viewers might finally be getting some insight into their frustrating split after Umansky’s recent real estate move.

The 53-year-old founder of The Agency has bought a swanky new condo in the West Hollywood area. “Kyle and Mauricio have been living separately for the last few months and he’s been staying there,” an insider shared with Us Weekly. “They’ve both been traveling a lot recently, so it’s working out where they don’t stay under one roof.” On the 13th season of the Bravo show and on Umansky’s Netflix series, Buying Beverly Hills, the couple admitted that they were no longer sharing a bedroom in their Encino home.

A second source revealed to the media outlet that the high-powered real estate agent will be shuttling between his new residence and his former home when his estranged wife is traveling because they share a 16-year-old daughter, Portia. This is a significant sign that the former duo is moving in different directions, but fans shouldn’t expect to hear about a divorce anytime soon, according to the first insider. “They both agreed it’s too messy financially as Kyle has a huge stake in The Agency,” they said while referring to Umansky’s boutique real estate agency.

The couple married in 1996 and Richards confirmed on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live show in January that “we did not have a prenup.” She added, “My husband did not have a penny when I married him…” He was in the clothing business when I met him, making no money.” Umansky has never argued Richards’ statement that they “built everything together” as a couple, and living in a community property state like California, everything would be split 50/50. “He didn’t have any money when I married him and it’s our money,” she summed up “Let’s be very clear about that. It’s very clean cut. Everything is half regardless.”

There seems to be a lot of love between the two of them for the family and real estate empire that they created together. In their 27 years together, they raised four daughters, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie (from Richards’ first marriage), 35, Alexia Umansky, 27, Sophia Umansky, 24, and Portia. “It’s really tough. I do feel like my entire identity is being a wife and a mom, and that’s been really hard to wrap my head around… And that’s what I think learning who I am without that even though obviously no matter what, I’m a mom,” Richards summed up on Lewis’ show. “I have four daughters, and they are my best friends, but he’s also my friend, and I do love him very much, and that’s what’s also hard.”

Perhaps Umansky’s real estate move will give them the fresh start that they all need.
