Matty Healy's Dating History: From Halsey to Taylor Swift

The 1975 singer notably dated Taylor Swift for a few months in the spring of 2023

Matty Healy has had a love life worth singing about.

Though The 1975 singer doesn't often discuss who he's dating, he's sparked plenty of rumors about romantic connections with the various stars he's been seen out with.

Recently, the singer was linked to Taylor Swift following her breakup from actor Joe Alwyn.

Though the musicians first met in 2014, they didn’t officially date until years later, when Healy was spotted attending Swift’s Eras Tour in May 2023 and they were later spotted holding hands in New York City.

And the “Tortured Poets Department” singer isn’t the only big name he’s been linked to. In 2015, he and Halsey made headlines for their rumored romance, which some fans believe inspired Halsey's debut EP, Room 93, and her hit single "Colors" on Badlands.

Gemma Janes

One of Healy’s first relationships in the spotlight was with model and Sendb00ks founder Gemma Janes, who starred in The 1975 music video for “Chocolate.” Although it’s unclear when the couple started dating, they reportedly split sometime in 2014 as the band went on tour.

Halsey

After splitting from Janes, Healy sparked dating rumors with fellow musician Halsey in 2015. Though the two never officially confirmed their relationship, Halsey did share many photos of the two together and hint at it during an interview with Billboard published in August 2015.

When asked about the nature of their romance, Halsey replied, "We're both attracted to characters, and we saw that in each other. I spent a lot of time watching him, and he spent a lot of time loving being watched. But if you think he's the first red-wine-­drinking, pretty-boy rocker in skinny jeans I've been associated with, you're out of your f---ing mind."

Gabriella Brooks

Long before she started dating Liam Hemsworth, model Gabriella Brooks was linked to Healy. They were first linked in 2015, when Brooks shared a photo of Healy to her Instagram, and eventually made their debut as a couple in 2017 when they attended the BRIT Awards. After four years of dating, they parted ways in late 2019.

FKA twigs

A few years after his split from Brooks, Healy started dating FKA twigs. PEOPLE confirmed their relationship in February 2020, just a day before Valentine’s Day. The two were seen cuddling up after the NME Awards in London that same month, where they both performed.

Their relationship came after FKA twigs’ split from actor Shia LaBeouf in early 2019, against whom she later filed a lawsuit in December 2020 alleging the actor of "relentless" abuse. At the time, Healy showed his support for FKA Twigs by posting a photo of her on Instagram, calling her a "legend," "icon" and "loml" (for "love of my life") in an emoji-filled caption.

After dating for almost three years, they split in early 2022.

Charlotte D'Alessio

Later that year, Canadian model Charlotte D'Alessio was spotted at several of Healy's 1975 shows; however, the two never officially confirmed their relationship and their romance seemingly fizzled out shortly after.

Taylor Swift

Though they first met in the fall of 2014, Swift and Healy didn’t publicly date until years later. Dating rumors first surrounded the two when Healy was seen attending her Eras Tour in May 2023, following her split from actor Joe Alwyn, whom she dated for six years.

Shortly after, they were seen holding hands in New York City on a night out with Swift’s pal Jack Antonoff. At the time, a source told PEOPLE that the two were “hanging out and having a good time,” noting that their relationship wasn’t “just platonic."

The two dated publicly for about a month, during which Healy made various appearances at the Eras Tour as he performed with Phoebe Bridgers, before splitting in June 2023.

"She had fun with him, but it was always casual," a source told PEOPLE about their breakup. "They are no longer romantically involved."

Gabbriette Bechtel

Healy has been dating model Gabbriette Bechtel since September 2023, when they were spotted engaging in some PDA with Bechtel in New York City. Though the couple has generally kept their relationship low-key, they have made several appearances together, including attending Fashion Week; Bechtel has also been spotted at the band's concerts.
