PEOPLE has also confirmed that the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division is handling Perry's death investigation, but that "foul play is not suspected at this time." They declined to comment on what may have been recovered from the scene, as "the investigation is ongoing."

Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, the victim of an apparent drowning. Following reports of his death, friends and costars paid heartfelt tributes to the Friends actor, including Shannen Doherty, who reflected on their "lifetime of friendship" and Gwyneth Paltrow, who shared an intimate story of a "magical summer" she and Perry spent together.

The creators of Friends, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, and executive producer Kevin Bright, shared a joint statement, praising Perry's talent.

"It still seems impossible," the trio wrote of his death. "All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives."

The statement continued, "He was a brilliant talent. It's a cliche to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Matthew's case, there are no truer words. From the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us."
