Matthew McConaughey working with Baby2Baby to provide Maui with aid after fires

Austin's own Matthew McConaughey announced on Instagram Tuesday that he's working with nonprofit Baby2Baby to provide relief to victims of the Maui fires.

Joining McConaughey in his philanthropic efforts are his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, and son Levi, who appeared in the Instagram video. The family is funding a Baby2Baby emergency aid plane "filled with hundreds of thousands more emergency supplies that will have an immediate impact on children and families on Maui," the Instagram video's caption said.

Baby2Baby will give the supplies to on-the-ground organizations such as Aloha Diaper Bank, Maui Food Bank, Hawaii Diaper Bank, Pacific Birth Collective and Maui Rapid Response. The organization accepts donations on its website.

Almost 100 people have died in the fires as of Monday. Government officials have said global warming could be one of the causes of the fires, though the origins are not yet known. Also as of Monday, the Lahaina fire was 85% contained and the Upcountry Maui fire was 65% contained. While not extinguished, the Pulehu/Kihei fire was 100% contained.
