Matthew McConaughey has lined up his next role, joining up with Guy Ritchie for his return to a British crime drama, “Toff Guys.”

McConaughey will star alongside Kate Beckinsale and “Crazy Rich Asians” breakout star Henry Golding in the film that’s a throwback to Ritchie’s “Snatch” and “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels,” three individuals with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The film will explore the collision between old money in Europe and the modern marijuana industrial complex with new gang entrants swarming. Ritchie, who will direct and produce, wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson.

Miramax closed a $30 million deal to finance and acquire the world rights to “Toff Guys” back in May.

“Toff Guys” is set to start shooting this fall in England. Bob Osher, COO and general counsel, and Matthew Anderson, VP of Development & Production, Film & TV, will be supervising on behalf of Miramax.

McConaughey, who starred in “White Boy Rick” earlier this year, still has Steven Knight’s “Serenity” and Harmony Korine’s “The Beach Bum” on the horizon.

Beckinsale just joined comedic film “El Tonto” alongside Charlie Day, and she’s currently filming the TV miniseries “The Widow.”

Golding, who broke out in this year’s “Crazy Rich Asians,” also recently signed on to Paul Feig’s next film “Last Christmas” and can be seen in Feig’s “A Simple Favor.”

Ritchie has veered more toward studio fare in recent years, directing several “Sherlock Holmes” films and has the live-action remake of Disney’s “Aladdin” on the way in 2019.

McConaughey is represented by CAA and Morris Yorn Barnes. Beckinsale is repped by UTA and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller. Golding is repped by Paradigm and Megan Silverman Management.

Variety was first to report this news.
