January is party time at Matthew McConaughey’s house!

The actor, 54, appeared on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed that he has to "prepare, party and reset" during the New Year thanks to all of the festive and birthday celebrations.

“The holidays were great, I mean they're not really done. It doesn’t feel like,” McConaughey, 54, said. “So you got Christmas, you got New Year, everybody’s got that right?”

“But I’ve got a son [Livingston] with a birthday the 28th of December,” The Gentlemen star continued.

"I’ve got a daughter with a birthday the 3rd [Jan], I’ve got a mother with a birthday the 7th [Jan].”

Asked how old his mother was — McConaughey who shares sons Levi, 15, and Livingston, 11 as well as daughter Vida, 14, with his wife Camila Alves McConaughey, 40 — replied, “92 just a couple days ago. Mama, kicking a——!”

He then added that when his children were younger they were able to “Merge Christmas into the New Year’s birthdays” and it would be “all one big party.”

However, he revealed that his children no longer accept that arrangement! “They don’t play that game anymore," the actor laughed.

“You got to prep, you party, reset, party again,” McConaughey explained. “Prep, party, reset.”

Meanwhile, the star added to the host that his wife’s birthday is also at the end of the month on January 28.

“When they get past Valentine’s Day the rest of the year is smooth sailing,” added McConaughey.

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actor also went on to discuss how his daughter asked to ride rollercoasters the night before her birthday. The family then went to [themepark] Six Flags Fiesta Texas the following morning and “rode every rollercoaster at least three times.”

“I’m still sore,” the father of three quipped.

However, “on the very last ride,” McConaughey’s kids alerted him to the fact that his cellphone had dropped out of his pocket.

The star's fears were realized when a security guard showed them a video of his cellphone flying out during the ride. However, McConaughey shared with Fallon that the story had a happy ending.

While the phone landed “in the middle of a swamp,” the staff at Six Flags told him that they’d try and retrieve it after the park closed in the evening.

And to McConaughey's surprise, his cellphone was delivered to his home at 6PM the next day and it still worked!
