For those that don’t know, Alves and the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star met in a club back in 2006, and McConaughey later described it as love at first sight, back in a 2020 interview with Oprah Winfrey via People. They later married during a three-day ceremony in 2012, and they share three children together named Levi, 15, Vida, 13, and Livingston, 10.

Along with their staycations and seeing each other often, McConaughey revealed how he and Alves keep a happy home during an interview with Today Extra in Australia. “Don’t make a straight line crooked,” he said. “If things are going well, keep catching green lights. If they’re not, deal with them soon so they don’t bubble up and get you later.”
