How will All American: Homecoming Season 3 be different now that Peyton Alex Smith is no longer a series regular? –D.L.
Homecoming showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll (who created and co-showruns NBC’s Found) is quick to remind, “Peyton isn’t off the show; he just won’t be a series regular, which is not just the case for him but other cast members as well.” Now, as for what the All American offshoot will look like moving forward, “What I can say about that is that the character of Damon and his impact at the school will continue on,” Okoro Carroll told us. “The essence of what is at the heart of the Homecoming story for both characters, both sports, the pursuit of a dream for this ensemble cast… all of that stays the same.”

Do we think a winter season of Big Brother is likely with the writer and actor strikes delaying scripted shows? Maybe All Stars/Legends? –Maddy
I like the way you think, Maddy, but at this time there is nothing to report on that front.

Agatha Raisin
Agatha Raisin

I’m a huge fan of Ashley Jensen and love her British series Agatha Raisin. Any word on when the fifth season will be coming out? Also, it was announced last year that Jensen will also be taking over the lead of Shetland. Is she going to be doing double duty? –Alex
Actually, Acorn TV has not (yet?) renewed the Jensen-led Agatha Raisin for Season 5. And while there is no news yet from BritBox on when Shetland will drop Season 8, on which Jensen now stars as DI Ruth Calder, that season has wrapped filming. (UPDATE: Shetland Season 8 hits BritBox on Nov. 29!)

Will NCIS: Sydney have some connection to, or even reference, any of the other NCIS shows, like maybe the L.A. or D.C. teams? –Maria
As showrunner Morgan O’Neill promised in TVLine’s exclusive and in-depth preview, there is the occasional Easter egg to be found — such as in the series’ Nov. 14 CBS premiere, when a very familiar name gets dropped. Bonus scoop: Be prepared to play “Hey, I Know That Australian Actor!,” as I did when Georgina Haig (Fringe, OUAT) popped up in the premiere. I’ll have a full review next month, but in the meantime ask yourself: What variation on the cut-to-commercial freeze-frame is left for an NCIS series to do…?

Any chance we’ll see Alicia again in the last episodes of Fear the Walking Dead? –Stephen
Whether Alycia Debnam-Carey will turn up again on AMC’s first Walking Dead spinoff remains unclear. But her character will certainly be foremost on the mind of mom Madison (Kim Dickens) after this Sunday’s midseason premiere sets her on a collision course with not only old pal Strand (Colman Domingo, making his first appearance all season) but old enemy Troy, whom she thought she’d killed way back in Season 3. And if you thought that with only six episodes left, the show would be done introducing new characters, you’ll want to think again; “Anton” folds in a couple of significant ones.

Is there any news on a second season of The Resort on Peacock? –Blake
Nope, no updates to share at this time.

Any scoop on Doom Patrol? –Jay
This Thursday’s (mostly) musical episode is… well, as you might imagine, it is something! It kicks off with a rousing, six-minute group number, serves up a flirty duet between Jane and Casey, gives Broadway vet Matt Bomer a fun little solo and finds Oscar winner Brendan Fraser crooning about, yes, [NSFW spoiler].

Is it a sign that Heels may be picked up at another place since Starz pulled all the episodes? Fingers crossed! –Wendi
No, that is simply a sign that Starz is “disappearing” content (including the freshly cancelled Heels, Blindspotting and Run the World), as so many other streaming apps have done over the past 18 months.

Any scoop on The Gilded Age? –Liz
You’re probably wondering how the HBO period drama, in it all its lavish glory, could possibly top itself in Season 2. And to that, we have two words to share: Easter. Sunday. Prepare to wonder just how big this show’s fascinator budget truly is. And while we’re discussing the Oct. 29 premiere, it isn’t long before we’re given a full — if not slightly awkward — update about Marian’s out-of-the-picture ex, Tom Raikes.

All my Googling turned up an October 15, 2023 premiere date for Chapelwaite Season 2. But I can’t find Season 2 anywhere — not even a mention on the MGM+ site. Was it un-renewed, or did the Internet get the date wrong? –Michael
Sounds like that pesky Internet done you wrong. There are zero updates to be had on Chapelwaite Season 2 (or Condor Season 3, for that matter).

Is there a chance that Magnum P.I. could be picked up by another TV channel? –Gary
If there is a chance, it is the slimmest of slim ones, seeing as no one is actively seeking a new home for the twice-cancelled island drama. “To my knowledge, it is not currently being shopped. I don’t want to give false hope,” showrunner Eric Guggenheim told TVLine. “Shows getting canceled and coming back, or getting picked up and then cancelled, has become such a normal occurrence in recent years. And obviously there have been countless revivals. So given all that, I think anything is possible. For now, though, I’m just hoping the fans really enjoy these 10 episodes, and that new viewers are able to discover the show.”

Anything on Magnum P.I.? –Zoe
Some fun team-ups are on tap, with Rick helping Thomas hunt down a missing witness in the Oct. 25 episode, and Jin enlisting TC’s help — with a treasure hunt! — in the Nov. 1 episodes (guest-starring the previously teased Kirk Fox).

Bosch Legacy Season 2 Release Date Trailer
Bosch Legacy Season 2 Release Date Trailer

Excited to finally have Bosch: Legacy back, what can we expect? –Craig
Oh man, this Friday’s double-episode Freevee premiere is a super-intense, nail-biting doozy, as the hunt for Maddie takes some wild turns and leads to very dark places. Terrific work by both Titus Welliver and Madison Lintz.

Do you know when we might see Season 3 of Alex Rider? I recently binged the first two seasons and they were fantastic. –Lisa
Sorry, there is still no news on Season 3 of the Freevee spy thriller, which was greenlit back in August 2022.

What will Daniel Gillies’ role be in The CW’s Sight Unseen? –Drew
As reported last week, Sight Unseen centers on Tess, a “top homicide detective (played by Dolly Lewis) who is forced to quit the job she loves after nearly killing her partner and being diagnosed as clinically blind.” TVLine has learned that The Originals alum Gillies plays Jake, Tess’ aforementioned former partner. Still a top cop himself, Jake is Tess’ line of communication to the Metro PD as they continue to solve crimes together — him “by the book and from inside the force,” and her “as an outsider by the seat of her pants.” And though their relationship is mostly professional, a connection pulls them together and often leaves Tess’ seeing-eye guide, Sunny (Agam Darshi), wondering if they might share something deeper than either is willing to admit.

Any word on Snowpiercer Season 4’s quest for a new home? Been dying to see the ending since the Season 3 finale! –Doug
I keep asking around, and alas I keep hearing nothing. (So far.)

So excited about Peter Gadiot being a regular on Quantum Leap! Any scoop on Tom you can share? –Stephanie
Though this first stretch of Season 2 episodes won’t serve up any flashbacks to when Tom first met Addison (and more importantly, how they got so… close), you can expect to learn a lot more about Mr. Westfall in the weeks ahead. (Though probably not why he shares a name with the St. Elsewhere rugrat, as much as that homonym fascinates me ❄️🌍)
