More from TVLine

Will there be a time jump on Chicago Fire? –Emma
“Yes, there will be some time jump going into the premiere (airing Wednesday Jan. 17), and viewers and 51 are in it together,” Fire showrunner Andrea Newman tells Inside Line. “There have been big changes, and the 51 gang is on a rollercoaster ride throughout the episode trying to navigate all of it.”

Will Chicago Fire‘s Truck 81 will get a new candidate since it only has four people on it now? –YP
“There will be a new firefighter joining Truck 81, but not for the reasons anyone thinks,” showrunner Andrea Newman teases. “Of course, the newbie will be trouble with a capital T — but is it the good kind or the bad kind? We’ll find out….”

Any information on Amazon Prime’s Outer Range? A Season 2 premiere date, or if it has finished filming? –Nelson
I can confirm that Season 2 has indeed wrapped filming, and is on track for a 2024 release.

Any word on when Seasons 4 and 5 of the TV series based on J.K. Rowling/Robert Galbraith’s Coroman Strike books will be released Stateside? Only Seasons 1-3 are available on Max. –Dan
Season 4 of what we Yanks call C.B. Strike will hit Max sometime in 2024.

Do you have a scoop on the last two episodes of Magnum P.I.? –Jade
I will say that Amy Hill, who plays Kumu, is fantastic in the first of the two final episodes airing this Wednesday. Very powerful material, and a wonderful performance. The finale itself has a good-n-twisty case that Thomas and Juliet need to crack with limited resources and in a short amount of time… or else. 😲

How “punchy” is the upcoming Magnum P.I. bedroom scene, from 1 to Very Punchy? –Adina
I’d say it’s quite punchy! Perdita Weeks did not undersell it. There is some skin to be seen/appreciated at the start of the actual series finale, as well as the promise of yet another shared shower….

Is Prime Video going to put ads in the middle of shows, or just at the start? —Lincoln
I asked around on your behalf, and… the Prime Video reps aren’t saying. “Tune in” Jan. 29, I guess!

Can I get anything more on Chicago P.D‘s Hailey Upton and her final journey on Intelligence? –Sarah L.
When TVLine served up these #2024FirstLook photos, we quoted showrunner Gwen Sigan as saying, “It’s a big season of growth and change for Hailey Upton — we find her at the start of this season in a precarious place; wanting to move her life forward after finally taking off her ring, finding that it’s more difficult than she’d like. There’s a lot she still has to confront in herself and doesn’t necessarily know how to do so.” Beyond that, Sigan also shared with TVLine, “This season we’ll see that journey and get to see Hailey up against some new characters, ones that challenge and push her towards that confrontation. It’s gonna be a ride.”

Any more scoop on S.W.A.T.? –Geoff
“Given that this could be S.W.A.T.‘s final season, we’re going to return to our roots to some extent,” showrunner Andrew Dettmann tells Inside Line, “and really put Hondo in a vise between his allegiance to his community and his commitment to being a cop — the whole ‘Black vs. Blue’ notion that started the show back in Season 1.” (And yes, you read that right. Dettman wrote could…?)

Is Fox network still doing a remake of Starsky & Hutch with female leads? If so, who do they have in mind and will one of them be LGBTQIAP+? –Aleana
That reboot, first announced in February, is still in development at Fox — but there is no casting or character details to be shared just yet.

I started watching Good Trouble from Season 2, because of Mariana/Evan. Can you say if they are endgame, because my emotions are stretched thin waiting every week just to find out that they aren’t getting back together for good. I just wanna know so I can finish my grieving process. –Khadi-Ann
We haven’t screened the show’s swan song yet, so we can’t confirm if the pair are endgame (although we are rooting for them!). But we can tell you that in the final season’s early episodes, it certainly appears like at least one-half of the Mariana and Evan equation still has some romantic feelings for the other. And that makes their new working relationship even more complicated.

I’ve watched all three seasons of Harrow on Hulu. I know a fourth season was held off due to the pandemic. Any word on whether there will be one? –Ed
This coming April will mark a whole three years since Season 3 ended, but officially there is no word yet on the Aussie drama’s ultimate fate. I’ll keep asking around, though.

I would like a clear answer as to who is the grandfather to the kids on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters — Billy or Shaw? What happened to Billy? And why does Shaw look like like he’s in his 50s when he should be at least 80? –Lonnie
The Dec. 29 episode pretty much answered your first question, and the 2017 movie Kong: Skull Island covers the fate of older Bill Randa (played by John Goodman). As for Colonel Shaw being so curiously spry for a very old guy… let’s just say that Kurt Russell’s character addresses that topic, again, before the season is over. (But no, the secret isn’t Crumply Crunch. And I deserve at least 1,000 TVLine Power User Points for that deep cut.)

Any news on the Alex Cross Amazon series? –Joey
I can confirm that production is completed on the first season of Cross, which stars Aldis Hodge (Leverage) in the title role. (Pleeeeeease be better than Kiss the Girls!)
