Matt Damon Reacts to All the Money It Would Cost to Rescue Him

If there is one constant that exists throughout the many movies Matt Damon has made, it’s that his characters tend to find themselves in harm’s way.

Recently, some brave soul on the Internet took the time to tally the total cost of saving all of Damon’s characters from his various films. Syriana and Green Zone came in at $50,000 each, while Saving Private Ryan and Courage Under Fire cost roughly $100,000 each. Not too pricey, but once you dive into Damon’s sci-fi flicks, the costs go through the roof. Titan A.E. would cost taxpayers $200 billion, Elysium an additional $100 million, and Interstellar a whopping $500 billion. Oh, and let’s not forget The Martian, another $200 billion.

As Willie Geist read the statistics to Damon, he slowly realized the total cost was approaching $1 trillion. That being said, Geist suggested maybe doing a rom-com next, which Damon agreed to.
