“I felt amazing,” says 11-year-old “MasterChef Junior” winner, Bryson, while recalling the moment Gordon Ramsay announced he had won Season 9. “It’s always been my life dream just to get on the show. To actually win it has been amazing.” Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby above. 

Bryson beat out Michael and Remy in the grand finale, with each making a three-course meal for judges Gordon, Tilly Ramsay, Daphne Oz and Aarón Sánchez. “I want to say a big congratulations to Michael and Remy,” Bryson says. “Just to get how far they went. We came into the competition not really knowing each other, but spending a whole bunch of time with each other, we’ve gotten so close.”

The live audience at the finale didn’t intimidate Bryson, who has been cooking in barbecue competitions with his dad for years. “I do a lot of demos around where I live,” says the Alabama native. “I’m used to seeing a lot of people and cooking in front of them.”

So what will he do with his $100,000 check? “I’m going to be very responsible,” he shares. “A big amount of it is going to go to savings. Some more is going to go to investing in a food truck. I’ve always wanted to take my food all around the world, so that could be a big thing for me. And then, going to college for culinary school.”
