8:00 p.m.Previously on “MasterChef Junior”! The chefs were up for their first team challenge where they were tasked with preparing hearty meals for the Harlem Globetrotters. In the end, both Lydia and Kristell were eliminated from the losing Red Team. Who will be next?

8:10 p.m. — The young chefs ride in class, taking a limousine to the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Once they arrive Gordon shows them a magic trick of his own, cutting his daughter Tilly in half in a magic box. After the other judges magically appear they explain the next challenge. The top eight will split into teams and feed all the magicians and staff from the Academy of Magical Arts. Someone from the losing team will be eliminated. The teams are listed below.

Blue Team: Michael (captain), Bryson, Lilo and Jordyn
Red Team: Remy (captain), Miles, Alfred and Asher

They’ve got one hour until the restaurant is full of amazing magicians. Gordon wants to see sample dishes in 30 minutes. The clock starts now!

8:15 p.m. — The teams gather to strategize their dishes. On the Blue Team, Michael delegates the pork chops to Bryson, sweet potatoes to Jordyn and candied pecans to Lilo. He will help her with the collard greens. On the Red Team, Asher and Miles will work on filet mignons, Alfred will cook mashed potatoes and red wine sauce and Remy will focus on roasted carrots and plating. The youngsters get cooking as the judges observe from the sidelines.

8:25 p.m. — While watching everyone cook, Gordon looks concerned for Lilo who seems a bit out of sync with the rest of the Blue Team. Daphne is stressed for the Red Team because they have an ambitious plan and are behind on time. Aarón doesn’t think Miles is communicating well or being very assertive at his station. When the judges taste the sample plates, Gordon advises Michael to make sure the Blue Team gets the bacon crispier before they put it on the sweet potatoes. Also, the sauce is too thick, but the pork is cooked beautifully. The potatoes are also ice cold and lack salt — so lots of notes for Michael to take back to the Blue Team. Over on the Red Team, Gordon tells Remy their filet mignon is cooked perfectly. The potatoes lack salt and are “ice cold.” Gordon gets stern with the lighthearted Remy, telling her, “If you’re not listening you’re not going to win and you’re going to go home.”

8:35 p.m. — With the magic show over, it’s time for the magicians and staff to sit down and eat. Both teams begin to plate and serve each patron, hoping they’ll dish up a victory. Midway through service, Alfred can’t come up with carrots on time and a few plates are served without them. That’s a big misfire for Alfred, and could put him in danger of elimination if the Red Team loses. Over on the Blue Team, Gordon hands them a tongue lashing when Bryson serves up raw pork chops. “All of you can go home,” he says if they keep cooking like that. There are no kid gloves for these cooks when they’re in the “MasterChef Junior” kitchen. Right now Gordon doesn’t seem thrilled with either Michael or Remy in their captain aprons.

8:45 p.m. — Inside the restaurant diners seem generally pleased with their food. As Tilly polls the crowd, the first table is a clean sweep for the Red Team. Over at Daphne’s table, three vote for Blue Team and two for Red. When the judge walks over to another table, one woman’s filet AND pork chop are both raw. Yikes! Both are returned and Gordon tells Remy and Michael to get their act together and “demand better standards.”

8:55 p.m. — With service complete it’s time for each diner to cast their final vote. Gordon announces the winner of this challenge is the Blue Team! Michael and Bryson breathe a sigh of relief after thinking they were going on the chopping block. Now the judges will discuss which member of the Red Team is going home.

9:01 p.m. — The judges think Remy was a vocal captain and good at delegating. Alfred fell behind on the first two tables. Miles was very inconsistent cooking the filets. In the end, the judges decide to eliminate Miles. “Tonight, the grill was not your friend,” Gordon tells him. Miles bids a tearful goodbye, but says, “Overall, I tried my best so I’m really proud of myself.”
