‘MasterChef Celebrity Showdown’ Preview: Anthony Anderson and Jordana Brewster Go Head-to-Head
Sure, Anthony Anderson and Jordana Brewster can act — but how well can they cook? Fortunately, they’ll have a little help when they go head-to-head in the MasterChef kitchen. The stars of Black-ish and The Fast and the Furious franchise are paired up with Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi, respectively, for one of four culinary battles on the latest MasterChef Celebrity Showdown.
You’d think it’d be a high-pressure situation — the eyes of a studio audience on you with only an hour to create a restaurant-quality masterpiece — but Anderson and Ramsay make it look easy, clinking wineglasses as they put dishes into the oven and crank fresh spaghetti through the pasta maker. Brewster and Tosi seem to be taking things a little more seriously as they carefully lift soufflés out of the oven.
To make matters worse, two of their judges will be from the upcoming season of MasterChef Junior. It can’t feel great to get schooled by someone younger than the wine you’re drinking, but since Anderson and Brewster are both competing for children’s charities, that probably softens the blow.
MasterChef Celebrity Showdown airs Monday, Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
