A couple and their teenage daughter were found dead in a Dover, Massachusetts, residence on Thursday night.

In a preliminary investigation, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said it appears to be "a deadly incident of domestic violence," per a press release posted by the Dover Police Department.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said that police were dispatched at around 7:24 p.m. on Thursday to a home on Wilson's Way after receiving a 911 call from a relative who had stopped by to check on the three family members.

When police arrived at the scene, they found two adults — a man and a woman — and their teenage daughter dead inside, per the release.

During a live press conference on Friday morning viewed by PEOPLE, Morrissey identified the victims as Rakesh Kamal, 57, Teena Kamal, 54, and Arianna Kamal, 18.

According to Morrissey, the state police discovered a firearm on the premises. The medical examiner is set to determine the cause and manner of death, and the district attorney expects an autopsy to occur "very soon."

"It's clear that this is a confined situation to this individual dwelling, and there's no threat to the other residents of the town," Morrissey said during the press conference.

In a statement issued via the press release ahead of the news conference, the DA's office believed that this is an isolated incident. "Although the investigation is at a very preliminary stage, the evidence available at this time does not indicate the involvement of any outside party, but suggests that this is a deadly incident of domestic violence," they said.

The DA's office added, "It is not believed that there is any ongoing danger to the Dover community related to this incident."

A rep for the Norfolk District Attorney's Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

During the press conference, however, the DA declined to comment on whether it was a murder-suicide or where the bodies were found. "It was apparent to those who went in that they were deceased. I just leave it at that," he said.

Morrissey confirmed that the firearm was found near Rakesh. "I don't know who it was registered to at this time, that's part of the ongoing investigation. We will not tell you at this time where it was found, but it was found near the husband, I'll just leave it at that," he told reporters.

According to Morrissey, the last homicide in Dover was in 2020. "There's been no police reports, there's been no problems, no domestic issues, no nothing at that house or in the entire neighborhood that I'm aware of," he told reporters Friday.
