‘The Masked Singer’ spoilers: Who is Lovebird?

Are you as happy to see “The Masked Singer” back on TV as we are? As much as we love watching the over-the-top performances on “The Masked Singer,” we get even more pleasure from figuring out the names of the celebrities competing. That is especially true if we can crack the code as to who is hiding inside a costume before the four judges (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Rita Ora, Robin Thicke).

Season 11 of “The Masked Singer” is shaping up to be the most competitive yet. The producers packed the line-up with 16 stars. One of our favorites in Week 1 was disguised as Lovebird and he wowed the crowd with his cover of the Phillip Phillips tune “Home.”

We’ve been reviewing the clues and that performance on March 6 and have all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the answer to the question, “Who is Lovebird”?

We think that Lovebird is Colton Underwood, the TV personality who first came to fame as a contestant on “The Bachelorette.” Don’t agree with our best guess? Consider how the clues line up with Colton Underwood’s life story, beginning with those golden cleats, which allude to his years as a college and NFL football star.

In his clues package, Lovebird revealed that he “was a hopeless romantic ” and readily admitted, “every decision I’ve made in my life has been because of love.” Back in 2018, Underwood was cast in season eight of “The Bachelorette” starring Becca Kufrin, which ties in to his clue that he “ended up in front of millions.” This fan favorite finished in fourth place, which would explain that image of the wedding cake with only a groom atop it.

However, Underwood was so loved by viewers that producers asked him to be on “Bachelor in Paradise.” Following his success on that spin-off he was tapped to be “The Bachelor” in 2019. That was season 23 of this reality TV staple; among the visual clues was a pair of dice with the numbers “2” and “3.” Lovebird revealed that he had won awards for being so lovable; Underwood picked up a MTV Movie and TV Award in 2019 for Most Meme-able Moment for a scene in the show where he jumped a fence.

While he chose Cassie Randolph in the season finale, their relationship ended after a year.  In 2021, Underwood came out as gay and he married politico Jordan C. Brown in 2023; those nuptials tie in to Lovebird’s declaration of “my proudest achievement — finally finding someone to nest with.”

After Lovebird finished singing, the men in black brought out a TV set that read “Leading Man.” He headlined the Netflix reality series “Coming Out Colton” in 2021 and won the reality competition show “Beyond the Edge” in 2022

We will only find out if we are right that Lovebird is Colton Underwood when he is unmasked. That will happen when he loses a vote or wins the show. Do you think we are right about the true identity of Lovebird? Sound off in the comments section with your best guesses.
