8:00 p.m. — “Previously on ‘The Masked Singer’!” In the Season 9 finale, Medusa won the Golden Mask trophy and removed her mask to reveal singer Bishop Briggs. Macaw (“American Idol” finalist David Archuleta) was the runner-up. But enough about last season — let’s get started with the first performance of Season 10!

8:05 p.m. — The premiere kicks off with a performance from Anonymouse singing “What About Love” by Heart. She’s just here for fun and won’t be in the main competition, but hopefully this is a taste of the talent to come this season. There’s no clue package beforehand, but this little squeaker can SING! She’s clearly a pro. Nicole says, “You are a pistol and you just blew the roof off this place!” Next, Anonymouse gives them their first clue to nibble on, stating, “Well, just like Michelle Obama, Oprah and Angelina Jolie, I’m on one special list — TIME’s 100.” This leads the panelists to guess Miley Cyrus (Jenny), Alicia Keys (Jenny), Christina Aguilera (Nicole), Ariana Grande (Nicole) and Lady Gaga (Ken). We’ll find out who she is later, but as she saunters backstage Ken calls her “the most powerful voice ever on the show.”

8:07 p.m. — Next, Nick announces they’ll showcase their Top 5 performances in “The Masked Singer” history beginning with #5 – The Peacock (Donny Osmond) with “The Greatest Show.”

8:15 p.m. — After watching some of the craziest unmaskings of all time (Kermit the Frog, Dick Van Dyke, T-Pain, Rumer Willis, Michelle Williams, Gladys Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Lil Wayne, William Shatner and Mickey Rourke), Nick introduces Michelle Williams (Season 2’s Butterfly) and Rumer Willis (Season 1’s Lion) for a special duet of “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” That was fun! Michele says it’s nice to come back with the ability to see and breathe. That performance is followed up by #4 on Nick’s countdown of the all-time best — The Sun (LeAnn Rimes) singing “Cuz I Love You.”

8:20 p.m. — Anonymouse returns with a clue from the Men in Black. It’s a “literal concrete clue” and she says, “My acting career has cemented me as one talented mouse.” This clue makes it clear the masked superstar is both an actress and singer. The panelists throw out a few more guesses such as Jennifer Hudson (Jenny), Kelly Clarkson (Robin), Pink (Nicole) and Demi Lovato (Nicole). Then we see some of history’s best deep sea creatures from “The Masked Singer,” including Seahorse (Tori Kelly), Crab (Bobby Brown) and Octopus (Dwight Howard). Season 10 will feature Diver, who says, “Usually I’m pretty pumped, but lately I’ve been lost in the abyss. I might be the most hated creature in the ocean right now. Usually you can find me under the sea, but for this clue you’ll have to look to the sky.” He reveals a photo of a cardinal. We’ll see more of Diver on the next episode airing September 27.

8:30 p.m. — After a montage of Nicole’s crushes over the years (Victor Oladipo as Thingamajig and Barry Zito as Rhino), the pair comes out to sing “Meant to Be” by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line with the panelist. They say they were a bit intimidated to sing with Nicole, but it was a fun trio to see. Next we see the #3 performance of all time, Thingamajig (Victor Oladipo) singing “Rainbow.” Gearing up for the Group A premiere on Wednesday, September 27, Nick shows us some of the wildest beasts from the previous nine seasons before giving a preview of Gazelle. She says, “Are you ready to guess who I am? If you can remember the A-list celebrity that dawned this mask (Gremlin – which was Mickey Rourke) in Season 4, that’s your first clue to my identity.”

8:40 p.m. — Next up are Bow Wow (Frog from Season 3) and Joey Fatone (Rabbit from Season 1) singing “ABC” by the Jackson 5. Who knew what a dynamic duo this would be? Joey even reveals he had the Rabbit tattooed onto his leg. Robin jokes, “Ken has the same one on his back.” Next is the #2 performance of all time, Seahorse (Tori Kelly) singing “My Heart Will Go On.” Then we finally get a proper clue package from Anonymouse. She says, “When I got a note that ‘The Masked Singer’ needed a mystery guest to celebrate their milestone 10th season, I knew I was right for the job. I started working young, but my big break came when I was able to showcase my voice. Though my future was looking bright from the outside, I struggled with demons on the inside. The more I pushed them down, the more I felt myself slipping away. I was trapped on the path of wrong decisions. Eventually I hit rock bottom. But that was the wakeup call that I needed to realize I had so much more life to live. Now I’ve made it my mission to seek out joy wherever I can, and that’s exactly what I’m doing here. It’s about time I stopped by, you’ve all been guessing me for the past nine seasons! But when this mask comes off you’ll see, there’s no mouse like me.” Visual clues included Nick Jonas, the state of Texas, a tyrannosaurus and a tiara. Jenny says this package “scream” Miley Cyrus. Robin points out that Kelly Clarkson also has a connection to Nick from “The Voice,” but the other name that comes to mind is Demi Lovato. Ken still insists this is Lady Gaga.

8:45 p.m. — Next Nick reveals two top secret regal characters from Season 10. First is Royal Hen, who says, “I’m not only known in America, but because of what I did, I’m known around the world.” Then there’s Husky, who says, “Don’t go barking up the wrong tree. Here’s 10 million hints at who I am. Can you figure it out?”

8:50 p.m. — The #1 performance in “The Masked Singer” history goes to Monster (T-Pain) singing “Stay With Me” by Sam Smith. Do you agree?

9:00 p.m. — To celebrate the best moments of the last nine seasons, Nicole sings “Purple Rain” by Prince. Then it’s finally time to reveal who Anonymouse is. The panel submits their final guesses: Lady Gaga (Ken), Demi Lovato (Robin), Demi Lovato (Nicole) and Demi Lovato (Jenny). Finally, Anonymouse pulls off that mask to reveal she is…Demi Lovato! The panelists (well, everyone but Ken) were right! What a way to kick off Season 10! Robin calls her “one of the great voices and talents of any generation.”
