Busta Rhymes says LL Cool J called him to give the "super salute" after 'Masked Singer' reveal

If there was ever a time audiences needed The Masked Singer, it would be right now, because well, *gestures broadly at America*. The surprisingly decent performances! The slightly disturbing costumes! Ken Jeong's shenanigans!

We can always count on these familiar elements, and tonight's Group C playoffs were no different. Host Nick Cannon wore something showy that he mostly pulled off, and this time it was a Pink Panther-esque suit. Jenny McCarthy probably called someone "girlfriend" (I can't actually quite remember, but the odds are good).

She was joined by fellow panelists Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and TMS season 2 winner Wayne Brady!

Mushroom, whose identity continues to elude us, went first with Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time." Their ability to disguise their voice — and hold a note for so damn long — tells us Mushroom is a professional singer, but the Hamilton clues last week and all the Mean Girls hints this episode have us reeling.

Then, Broccoli performed Lionel Richie's "Hello," followed by Squiggly Monster's cover of Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," and Jellyfish's rendition of Patsy Cline's "Crazy." All in all, the performances were way better than the contestants' first showing, especially Jellyfish, who was this episode's most improved.

Finally, it was announced that Squiggly Monster was eliminated!

Both McCarthy and Thicke's first impression guess was Full House star and comedian Bob Saget, and they stuck with their gut. Brady and Jeong agreed, after the panelist revealed his first impression guess was Fabio (believe it or not, this is not Jeong's first time throwing out that name on the show). Scherzinger had the season's funniest first impression guess, having written down "one of the Ying Yang Twins" ("the one that got the hair like that," she reasoned).

Squiggly Monster was then unmasked and revealed to be ... Bob Saget!

The panelists and EW called it! First off, the actor's 6-foot-4 stature lined up with Squiggly's towering physique. But did you know Saget actually appeared on TMS before? He was the "famous friend" serving up clues about Taco (Tom Bergeron) in a season 3 clue package.

Squiggly's "hands to latch onto" line in the preview episode matched the "hand to hold onto" lyric from the Full House theme song. Then, his first clue package contained many references to the classic sitcom — "father figure" was a nod to Saget playing patriarch Danny Tanner, "breaking news" was about his job as a morning show anchor, while the DJ turntable alluded to Danny's eldest daughter D.J. If you're keeping score, McCarthy is now closest to the Golden Ear trophy with three correct first impression guesses. Scherzinger and Thicke are tied with two, and Jeong unsurprisingly has none. That's rough, buddy.
