THIS POST CONTAINS spoilers for this week’s episode of Fox’s The Masked Singer.

Tyler Posey is used to the unusual. He got slapped by Gigi Hadid in Lip Sync Battle. A cast member in a wolf costume drooled K-Y jelly into his mouth. And most recently, the Teen Wolf star performed as a hawk in gladiator gear on The Masked Singer.

After a Harry-Potter-themed night featuring spell-bound songs, Posey was unmasked during the sixth episode after performing a punk rock rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Monster” against masked contestant Tiki. Not a single panelist was able to point out the teen-drama star, though incorrectly guessed Cole Sprouse, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Phillippe, and Billie Joe Armstrong.

“When they said that I was getting eliminated I was like, ‘What? There’s no way’” Posey tells Rolling Stone. “I gave it my all; there’s literally nothing else I could have done.”

When The Masked Singer reached out to Posey to participate in the singing-competition show, he didn’t hesitate. He was hoping he’d receive a call, he says, and has a knack for bizarre, bucket-list experiences.

“I like to entertain. I like to have fun and be goofy and I felt like this was the perfect format for that,” Posey adds.

During Episode Six, Posey sang The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” and shared clues about a loved one who died of cancer, his battle with depression, and an image of three claw marks over the word “teen.” Although competitive by nature, he says he was ultimately proud of his performance and enjoyed his time onstage. His only challenge was adjusting to the costume, which he describes as a wetsuit without air circulation.

“The most difficult part was not overheating,” Posey says of the winged costume. “That thing is hot.”

It’s also not ‘The Voice.’ It’s notAmerican Idol.’It’s not a singing competition. It’s more of a performance and effort. It’s an all-encompassing thing, so that I was a little bummed about because I really felt like I outperformed the other people.

Posey reprised his role in Teen Wolf: The Movie in January and told Variety he overcame his struggles with substance abuse and was sober for the role. In May, he released a 16-track album, Unravel, and with a planned tour next year alongside his wife, the singer Phem, Posey didn’t take offense to the elimination.

“It’s also not The Voice,” he says. “It’s not American Idol. It’s not a singing competition. It’s more of a performance and effort. It’s an all-encompassing thing, so that I was a little bummed about because I really felt like I outperformed the other people.”

The night kicked off with a performance by The Real’s (and Season Two’s Flamingo) Adrienne Bailon-Houghton who sang Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put A Spell You,” followed by a squeaky sing-along to Pilot’s “Magic” by Tiki. Next up, Husky put soul in Rick James’ “Super Freak,” and  continued to wow the panelists with his dance moves. And to close out the night, wild card contestant Sea Queen gave a raspy rendition of The Searchers’ “Love Potion No. 9.”

In last week’s episode, LGBT trailblazer and tennis icon Billie Jean King was unmasked as Royal Hen, and in earlier episodes the “King of Trash Talk” Michael Rapaport , Vanderpump Rules supervillain Tom Sandoval, black-ish’s Anthony Anderson, and Demi Lovato were all unmasked.
