EXCLUSIVE: In what is described as the “largest cooking show in history”, Banijay companies Bunim/Murray and Mastiff Sweden have teamed up with The Masked Singer producer Smart Dog Media on 100 Knives.

The three companies are developing the series with the aim of producing it in the U.S. and internationally.

The project sees 100 chefs converge on a high-stakes culinary battleground, each vying to carve out their legacy among the elite.

Forging kitchen brigades, the chefs engage in battles, transforming the stage into a test of skill, creativity, and teamwork. Every slice and dice by the chefs become a quest to sharpen their edge against the competition. By the end of this clash of kitchen titans, only one brigade will stand victorious, claiming their triumph with the ultimate “blade” of glory, per the logline.

Bunim/Murray’s Julie Pizzi, Rupert Dobson and Erica Ross redeveloped the format with Craig Plestis, and Clara Plestis from Smart Dog Media. Mastiff Sweden CEO Matilda Snöwall and Mattias Olsson, Head of Creative at Mastiff Sweden originally developed the project with Plestis.

The companies are taking it out the marketplace shortly.

It marks the latest entertainment format to be worked across more than one Banijay company. Bunim/Murray is best known for producing series such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians and, more recently, The Family Stallone, Vanderpump Villa and The Challenge.

Mastiff Sweden, meanwhile, is behind the Swedish version of Netflix’s Love Is Blind – the first European adaptation of the hit dating format – as well as original series such as craft competition Made In Sweden.

Smart Dog Media, which brought The Masked Singer to the U.S. via Fox, is also behind series including The Masked Dancer and TBS’ Celebrity Show Off. It is run by former NBC reality boss Craig Plestis.
