‘The Masked Singer’: Billie Jean King among Top 18 most famous celebrities of all time

Now in its 10th season, Fox’s wild and wacky reality TV show “The Masked Singer” has seen over 150 celebrities “take it off” on the big stage. While some of the unmaskings set the water cooler on fire with how well-known the contestant turned out to be, others — let’s be honest — had much of the audience whispering, “Who is that?” In our gallery above, we rank “The Masked Singer’s” most famous celebrities of all time. If you didn’t know any of these Top 18 personalities before the show aired, it’s safe to say you’ve been living under a rock your whole life.

Billie Jean King as Royal Hen is the latest notable face to join our esteemed list. “It was great, but it is so hot! I’m sweating bullets,” the 39-time Grand Slam champ told host Nick Cannon after being revealed as Royal Hen. She had the unique distinction of singing a song that Elton John wrote for her. “I’m really lucky,” she explained. “He said, ‘I want to write you a song,’ and I’m like, ‘What?’ And then he goes, ‘What are we going to call it?’ I go, ‘I don’t know,’ he goes, ‘What about Philadelphia Freedom?’ I go, ‘That would be the greatest gift to the people of Philadelphia if you would do that.’ And if you go to Philadelphia, everybody’s still playing it. It’s their anthem.”

Earlier this year, music superstar Demi Lovato as Anonymouse participated as a special guest star in the “Season 10 Kickoff” where she belted out “What About Love” by Heart. She was the only masked performer in that hour and wasn’t part of the official competition, but the judges still took turns guessing who that powerhouse voice belonged to. “I wanted to do your show because it seemed so fun and it has been so fun, and I get to sing so it’s the best of both worlds,” the multi-platinum singer explained during her unmasked interview. “This has been so much fun. Your words are so kind and I took them to heart. Thank you. And the energy from this audience is so great! Thank you for having me.”
