'The Masked Singer': A rapping Sarah Palin is revealed as the Bear, as she's eliminated

That was a bear-y short introduction.

Wednesday's "Masked Singer" introduced the final group of six competitors, vying for three spots in the "Super 9." (A trio of competitors from Groups A and B have already been chosen.)

At the top of the show, host Nick Cannon rubbed it in the faces of the panel – Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke – that they've guessed right only twice in six episodes this season.

Cannon also divulged tips on the stars in the latest group: "Between them they have one Guinness World Record, two Time magazine's "Most Influential People" honors, three New York Times best-sellers and 36 gold records.

Clues: Night Angel appeared at a motel for her debut package. The contestant opened the doors for rooms four, five and six and had a keychain marked with the number 2. Behind one door, there were people wearing duck bills on their faces; behind another, people partied. Night Angel also said that it's her "prerogative to have a little fun, y'all," before performing Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name."

Guesses: Thicke thought of singer/songwriter Taylor Dayne, while McCarthy pictured singer Monica and Scherzinger suspected rapper Lil' Kim.

Bear

Clues: Bear spoke of her critics and being "sick" over people not knowing the real her. She said that she was choosing to come out of hibernation, and also mentioned having cubs (children). A pair of hockey skates and a bowl of french fries were highlighted in the package.

Guesses: After hearing Bear's version of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back," Jeong mentioned former ice skater Tonya Harding and singer Britney Spears. McCarthy believed it could be actress Candace Cameron Bure and Thicke imagined it was comedian Tina Fey under the costume.

Clues: The out-of-this-world Astronaut "always dreamt of flying high," he said in his clue package that showed him flying through space. After crash-landing to Earth, Astronaut admitted it was "not a pitch-perfect landing" but was ready to entertain with Lauren Daigle's "You Say." Objects shown included a lei, a witch's broom and a toolbox. After performing, Astronaut revealed he "started at a young age."

Guesses: Jeong threw out actor Josh Hutcherson and McCarthy thought of singer Lance Bass. Scherzinger guessed actor Zac Efron.

T-Rex

Clues: The T-Rex said she was "plucked... out of obscurity" and was "one of dozens of talented creatures... all similar in looks, strength and skill, a sisterhood of fun and friends," hinting that she may have been part of a competition. Objects that appeared to have significance: a baby doll, and the letters N and W were circled on a display of the cardinal directions.

Guesses: T-Rex's performance of Pink's "So What" had Jeong envisioning reality star Kourtney Kardashian. McCarthy pictured dancer Maddie Ziegler and Scherzinger thought of "Friday" singer Rebecca Black.

Rhino

Clues: Between the trees, the challenger described himself as "a gentle giant" who was used to being "center stage" as a young rhino. He said "being on top became an addiction," and after not being in the No. 1 spot, he "crashed and burned." But, thankfully, Rhino received "the help I needed to get back on my ride," and was "ready to soar again."

Butterflies were highlighted in the package, as well as a guitar, with the text "Grand Ole Opry" written on it.

Guesses: Rhino's performance of John Hiatt's "Have a Little Faith in Me," made McCarthy and Scherzinger think of country stars Jason Aldean and Tim McGraw, respectively. But it made Jeong picture former football player (and current minor-league baseball player) Tim Tebow.

Swan

Clues: Swan said she "refused to be tuned out" in her clue package, which also included a man with a megaphone and a ballet bar. A man was also shown with a mouth full of vampire teeth, and we saw a ghost haunting a tree.

Guesses: Following Swan's "Fever" by Peggy Lee, Jeong guessed "Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev was beneath the costume, but became envious of Scherzinger's feeling that it could be actress Jennifer Love Hewitt. Thicke believed it could be "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The Elimination

Bear was cut from the competition, revealing a famous face that left McCarthy "stunned beyond belief."

For their final guesses, Thicke and McCarthy stuck with their original guesses of Fey and Cameron Bure, respectively. Jeong thought of the latter's "Fuller House" co-star Jodie Sweetin, while Scherzinger picked Christina Applegate.

It seems Thicke was the closest with Fey, as the bear was actually former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, whom Fey has impersonated. Palin said she chose the Bear because it referenced her nickname growing up, adding that she is a mama bear, and its presence in her home state.

"This is the weirdest thing I've ever done, that's for sure," said Palin. "But it's all about fun. It's unity."

"This is what our country needs right now, too," she added.
