8:00 p.m. — “Previously on ‘The Masked Singer’!” In Episode 8, Beets, Gumball, Miss Cleocatra and Seal took the stage in “Girl Group Night.” Following the studio audience vote, Miss Cleocatra and Seal were forced to face off in a smackdown singing “Waterfalls” by TLC. Seal prevailed and advanced to the Group B final and Miss Cleocatra was forced to unmask, revealing award-winning actress and singer Jenifer Lewis! Who will unmask tonight?

8:05 p.m. — Following a Group B performance of “It’s My Life,” Beets hits the stage first. In their clue package they reveal, “Performing on ‘Girl Group Night’ was so exciting. We didn’t realize how much we loved becoming the Beets and tonight we hope to be ‘un-BEET-able’ in the group finale. We chose a really powerful song. It’s about a single moment in your life that shows you what you’re really capable of. And for us, that moment was when we each became fathers. I always to be a dad, but I wasn’t sure that it would happen for me. So when I held my child for that very first time, my world changed. Yeah, for me, I suddenly realized the impact of every decision I made. But it’s not a perfect road. Right now my kid repeats everything I say, so I have to be really careful. You have to be careful? I’m teaching my son to drive. At least the hubcaps are still on. Now. let’s go out and make a new pivotal moment by hitting those high notes. This one’s for you little Beets.” Visual clues included “The Masked Singer’s” Banana Split (David Foster & Katharine McPhee), a clock with a thumbs up on it and a knight.

8:10 p.m. — Beets are singing “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston. It’s an epic anthem for two powerhouse vocalists. They killed that! They’re going to be tough to beat — er, beet. For additional clues tonight, each contestant will reveal a panelist (or host) they’re connected to. For Beets, the Men in Black bring out a record that says “Fresh Beets with Nick – A Wild Night.” Beets say, “Nick, always good seeing you. We should grab a drink together again sometime soon.” The panelists guess Beets are Shawn Stockman & Wanya Morris from Boyz II Men (Rita), Josh Groban & Brian McKnight (Ken) or Dan + Shay (Robin).

8:15 p.m. — Next on stage tonight is Seal. In his clue package he reveals, “I am so digging being the sexy, snappy Seal. Now, if I can just hold on for another week. I’ve chosen Run D.M.C.’s “It’s Trickey,” because that pretty much sums up my life. See, I’ve had to navigate the chilly waters of Hollywood since I was a child. There’s a lot of misconceptions out there about me. I’ve been tagged with the bad boy badge basically since day one, and they still keep trying to stick it on me. It’s been really tricky. I’d love nothing more than for people to know the other sides of me. The softer, fuzzier ones. I’m actually a family guy. Sure, I can still turn on the edge when the time comes. It’s all about the balance. And that’s why being here is a blast. I get the chance to show people I’m not what they may think. And trust me, your jaw is about to be on the floor when you see what this Seal has up his fin tonight.” Visual clues included a ship with a heart on its sail, a zombie poster, a calendar with Friday circled and a script for “Last Chapter: Win the Golden Mask.”

8:20 p.m. — Seal is singing “It’s Tricky” by Run D.M.C. This is definitely 180-degree turn from the beautiful harmonies of Beets. Seal is rapping while singing with a rock edge. This is a guy you want at your party. He’s having fun up there. Following the performance the Men in Black bring out a record that says “Sealed With a Kiss: A Tribute to Jenny – House Call.” Seal says, “Oh yeah, baby. It’s always fun hosting you for a change, because you’ve hosted me so many times. And especially, when it’s at my place.” The panelists think Seal could be Corey Feldman (Jenny), Macaulay Culkin (Robin) or Jerry O’Connell (Rita).

8:25 p.m. — Last on stage tonight is Gumball. In his clue package he reveals, “I absolutely loved singing ‘Wide Open Spaces’ for my wife last time. The night before my first performance I looked at her and I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ I know the immense that has hit this stage before and I thought, ‘Maybe I just don’t belong here.’ I’ve always felt like I was pretending to be something else. My family moved around a lot as a kid and, as the perpetual new guy, I would do anything to make friends. Even when I started performing on stage I always felt out of place. I have no formal training, no education. Despite some major successes, I still get those feelings to this day. But, luckily I have people around me who tell me to dig deep and carry on. That’s why I’m singing ‘Carry On Wayward Son.’ It’s about not giving up. And after making it to the Group finale, I’m glad I listened to my wife. It’s the cheers from the crowd that’s making the new kid inside me believe that maybe I do belong here.” Visual clues included an arcade with “Masked Singer” Cow (Ne-Yo), Piglet (Nick Lachey) and Queen of Hearts (Jewel), a yellow race car with an “X” on it and a football.

8:30 p.m. — Gumball is singing “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas. He looks more comfortable with each performance and tonight he’s really rockin’ out. It’s his best performance to date. For his additional clue, the Men in Black bring out an album that says “Sticky & Sweet: Ken’s Greatest Hits – Kenspiration.” Gumball says, “Ken, one of the funniest jobs that I have ever been a part of, you were involved as well.” The panelists guess Gumball could be Jack Black (Rita), Zachary Levi (Robin) or James Marsden (Robin).

8:40 p.m. — The audience has voted and it’s time for the singer with the least amount of votes to unmask. The first eliminated contestant tonight is Seal. The Beets and Gumball head off to prepare for the Battle Royale. But now it’s time for the judges to make their final guesses. Who is Seal? They say Jerry O’Connell (Rita), Haley Joel Osment (Ken) or Corey Feldman (Jenny and Robin). At last, Seal unmasks and reveals he is indeed actor and singer Corey Feldman! Jenny and Robin were right.

8:52 p.m. — It’s time for the Battle Royale! Beets and Gumball each put their own spin on “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals and the loser will be unmasked. Beets are clearly professional singers, but Gumball seems to have the crowd on his side. Both of them sound great. They need another “Ding Dong Keep it On” bell, but unfortunately there’s not one to spare.

9:02 p.m. — The winner of the Battle Royale is Gumball. That means he will advance to the quarterfinals and Beets are about to be unmasked. But before the earthy veggies take it off, the panelists submit their final guesses: Dan + Shay (Robin), Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Eric Stonestreet (Jenny), CeeLo Green & Danger Mouse (Rita) and K-Ci & JoJo (Ken). I can’t believe how off base they all are. I’ve known since the second I heard them this is “American Idol” stars Ruben Studdard & Clay Aiken and I was right! The panelists are all wrong! How could they miss that? Oh well, next week is the Season 11 quarterfinals. It should be quite a showdown!
