8:00 p.m. — “Previously on ‘The Masked Singer’!” In Episode 2, Gumball, Miss Cleocatra, Afghan Hound and Beets each took the stage for the first time. Following the studio audience vote, Gumball and Afghan Hound landed in the bottom two, but it was Afghan Hound forced to unmask and reveal herself as reality TV personality Savannah Chrisley! Who will be unmasked tonight?

8:05 p.m. — The first performer from Group C is Poodle Moth. The adorable creature says in her clue package, “If you’re like me you’re probably wondering what a Poodle Moth is. And would you believe only one has ever been found in the world? Luckily, being discovered once is all you need. For my entire life I was drawn to the flame, but I always felt like the bright lights were never meant for me. I told myself I was never going to be pretty enough or funny enough or talented enough to actually make it. So, I took a step back and helped others achieve their dreams. And while I loved that, I desperately wanted to spread my own wings, but if I could just take that first step, the light I thought was so impossible to find would be one step closer. So, I took the leap and I was discovered. It showed me that I am one-of-a-kind and, like Billy says, ‘You’re perfect just the way you are.'” Visual clues included street lights, a cowboy hat, a book with an American flag on the cover and sky lanterns.

8:10 p.m. — Poodle Moth is singing “Just the Way You Are.” It’s immediately clear she’s a true vocalist with a beautiful tone. She keeps the delivery simple and I don’t think we’ve seen the full depth of her range, but that should definitely be enough to keep her in this competition. For an additional clue, the men in black hit a baseball over to the panelists’ table that says “Opry” on it. Poodle Moth says, “I felt like a big shot when I performed at the Grand Ole Opry.” This leads the panelists to guess Poodle Moth is Trisha Yearwood (Robin), Wynonna Judd (Rita) or Rita Wilson (Ken).

8:15 p.m. — The next newcomer of the night is Clock. She’s very glamorous! In her clue package Clock reveals, “I’m delighted being here on Billy Joel night, because let’s face it, we’re both timeless. Once upon a time I was the belle of the ball. I had the whole world dancing from dusk til dawn. Everyone knew my name, but as the years past, trends started to change and I suddenly felt like I was becoming frozen in time. So, this queen reinvented herself and I achieved massive success again on my own terms, with the crowning achievement of performing for a president. Now, like the piano man says, I’m going to sing you a song tonight. So all you other singers better watch out, because you’re time’s about to be up!” Visual clues included a disco ball, a baby and a spinning globe.

8:20 p.m. — Clock is singing “Piano Man.” As expected, she’s a big-voiced diva who impresses the crowd. For an additional clue, a man in black plays “Vienna” on the piano. Clock says, “Vienna is all about seizing the day. And I actually have a date in my name!” The panelists guess Clock is Anita Baker (Jenny), Evelyn “Champagne” King (Robin) or Diana Ross (Ken).

8:30 p.m. — The next performer is Spaghetti & Meatballs. The tall and slim figure says in his clue package, “It’s me, Spaghetti & Meatballs. Throughout my career I’ve worn many different hates, searching for a life that’s full of flavor. I started out on Wall Street chasing the almighty dollar, but when it started to feel a little bit stale I raced after the dough and studied a whole new industry. Eventually I mastered the secret recipe to success. The biggest lesson I’ve learned? You don’t want to die young on a path you don’t love. So spice things up. The pasta-bilities are endless. Now I’m here at ‘The Masked Singer’ with a Billy Joel special.” Visual clues included an Italian village, a chef’s hat, a bank, a sports car and some salt and pepper.

8:35 p.m. — Spaghetti & Meatballs is singing “Only the Good Die Young.” He’s got a good voice! Ken even says, “He sounds like Billy Joel!” He’s also an energetic performer, working the entire stage. For an additional clue the men in black bring out a giant pizza that says “Show Time.” Spaghetti & Meatballs says, “I spend a good portion of my time on a hit show.” The panelists think Spaghetti & Meatballs is Gordon Ramsay (Rita), Guy Fieri (Jenny) or Stanley Tucci (Robin).

8:40 p.m. — The last singer from Group C is Lizard. This is one energetic amphibian and he’s in a racecar uniform. In his clue package Lizard reveals, “Some people might label me a ladies’ man — the bad boy type in Billy Joel songs. But that’s not the real me. And despite some of my better known hits, I tend to see people for who they are on the inside. Like when I met the love of my life. She was the definition of an uptown girl, and this downtown daredevil was smitten. Years later though, she was fed up with my superstar shenanigans and she threatened to walk out that door. That’s when I had a premonition. I told her I thought she was pregnant, and it turns out she was. I promised right then to change my ways. Now my whole world is all about being a good husband and a cool dad. And what’s cooler than showing up for my family’s favorite show? This downtown boy is about to turn it up!” Visual clues included a “TMS” gossip show that says “Live, Laugh, Lizard,” a heart-shaped lollipop, and a crab on a cupcake. Could they have some connection to “Masked Singer’s” Crab (Bobby Brown) or Cupcake (Ruth Pointer)? There was also a Christmas tree ornament.

8:45 p.m. — Lizard is singing “Uptown Girl” and he’s got a voice too! There’s no weak link in this group. Lizard’s got moves and he’s clearly a seasoned entertainer, whether he’s a professional singer or not. For an additional clue a little yellow taxi comes out with a card that says “Billboards.” To that Lizard says, “I’ve had a number one billboard and I’m not talking about Times Square.” The panelists think Lizard could be Michael Bivins (Ken), Ricky Bell (Jenny), Ralph Tresvant (Jenny) or Ray J (Robin). Other than Robin throwing out Ray J’s name, the panelists seem to think Lizard is one of the members of New Edition, they just can’t agree on which one.

8:50 p.m. — The studio audience has voted and the two singers with the least amount of votes are Spaghetti & Meatballs and Lizard. They’ll face off in tonight’s smackdown. That means Poodle Moth and Clock are safe and will live to sing another day.

8:55 p.m. — Spaghetti & Meatballs and Lizard each put their own spin on “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song).” They both sound great, Lizard just has a little bit more flavor (which seems ironic). After the panelists take a final vote, Lizard does prevail and Spaghetti & Meatballs will have to unmask tonight.

9:02 p.m. — Before Spaghetti &. Meatballs takes it off, the panelists submit their final guesses: Stanley Tucci (Robin), Guy Fieri (Jenny), Gordon Ramsay (Rita) and Bobby Flay (Ken). Are any of them right? The mystery crooner pulls off his pasta face and reveals they’re all wrong! It’s restaurateur and “MasterChef” judge Joe Bastianich! Who knew he could sing like that? Next week Group C will actually be back for “TV Theme Night.”
