‘Mary Poppins Returns’ Official Trailer: Emily Blunt’s Magic Is Undeniable

Emily Blunt already has one critically acclaimed performance under her belt in 2018 thanks to “A Quiet Place,” and she’s looking to deliver another in Disney’s Christmas family tentpole “Mary Poppins Returns.” The movie is the sequel to the 1964 classic starring Julie Andrews, who the won the best actress Oscar for playing the lovable nanny.

“Marry Poppins Returns” is the latest from Rob Marshall, who last partnered with Disney on their “Into the Woods” musical adaptation. The sequel is set in 1930s London and finds Mary Poppins visiting Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) as adults following the death of Michael’s wife. Lin-Manuel Miranda plays a lamplighter named Jack, while Meryl Streep stars as Mary’s cousin Topsy.
