The Fualaau family is growing.

Georgia Fualaau — one of the two daughters of Vili Fualaau and late convicted child rapist Mary Kay Letourneau — has given birth, a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.

The 25-year-old welcomed a son earlier this month, the source says.

Audrey, 26, first shared the news of her younger sister’s pregnancy on Aug. 19, saying, “Words cannot explain how excited I am for my little sister to have this baby boy…. you’re going to be such an amazing mom!”

In a previous interview with PEOPLE, Georgia said her father and sister have been “extremely supportive” throughout her pregnancy, and that her dad is "already buying baby stuff for me and giving me hand-me-downs from my baby sister."

Georgia's longtime boyfriend, a delivery driver and aspiring boxer, is the baby's father. She previously said she wanted to keep him out of the spotlight.

The birth of Georgia’s first child comes after Vili welcomed his third child, a daughter named Sophia, in 2022. Georgia announced her half-sister’s arrival on her private Instagram, which was seen by PEOPLE, writing "Hi Sophia, I'm your big sister! You're so beautiful, I can't wait to watch you grow. I'll be right here by your side no matter what! I love you 💕.”

While Georgia feels grateful for the support of her sister and dad, she knows her mom, who died in July 2020 at 58 of stage 4 cancer, would be “really happy.”

"I think maybe at first it would be kind of shocking, because I am her baby, but after that, she’d be the most excited grandmother-to-be… I feel like everything she’s taught us, just led to us being able to be amazing parents in the future.”

Georgia’s parents first began a sexual relationship in 1996, when Letourneau was a 34-year-old sixth-grade teacher and Fualaau was 12.

While her original sentence was only a few months, Letourneau was ultimately sentenced to over seven years in prison for child rape after ignoring court orders and continuing her relationship with Fualaau.

After Letourneau was released from prison in 2004, Fualaau, who was officially an adult, petitioned the court to drop the restraining order preventing them from seeing one another. The restraining order was dropped, and the couple got married in 2005, but Letourneau remained a registered sex offender in the state of Washington until her death.

The couple ultimately split in 2017, after Fualaau filed for legal separation, but they remained in each other's lives. Fualaau was by Letourneau’s side when she died in 2020 and much of her estate was left to Fualaau in her will.
