At the 2024 Urban One Honors, Chlöe, Dionne Warwick, Donald Lawrence, and Frankie Beverly are all set to be honored and now, Mary J. Blige has been added to that prestigious lineup.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul will be recognized with the Icon Award for how she’s redefined R&B with her fervent hits and immaculate talent shown in her music and onscreen.

“Urban One is thrilled to honor the incomparable Mary J. Blige as our 2024 Entertainment Icon,” said Michelle L. Rice, President of TV One and CLEO TV, in a statement. “Mary’s immeasurable talent and award-winning music has shaped our culture and has had a profound impact on artists and music across all genres, but most notably the elevation of female artists in both R&B and Hip-Hop across generations. She fully personifies the ‘Best in Black’ theme of this year’s Urban One Honors.”

Warwick was previously named the Lifetime Achievement Honoree as Chlöe will receive the Generation Next Honor. Beverly was named this year’s Living Legend and Lawrence will be praised with the Inspirational Impact honor.

This year’s list of performers and presenters include Teyana Taylor, Bebe Winans, Damon Little, Angie Stone, and October London. Select members from the cast of R&B Divas like KeKe Wyatt, Chanté Moore, and Nicci Gilbert are also set to reunite. LeToya Luckett will return as the official host of “Backstage Pass.”

URBAN ONE HONORS: Best in Black is the official kickoff for TV One’s 20th Anniversary. It will premiere on the network on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. ET. The broadcast will simulcast on CLEO TV.
