Ewan McGregor is a Ramona Flowers fanboy!

Speaking with PEOPLE following the release of Netflix's Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead — who voices Ramona in the new show and played the live-action version in 2010's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World — revealed a hilarious wardrobe item her husband whips out from time to time, to her amusement.

"He has this shirt that he'll break out every now and then and just wear that always makes me smile and laugh, which has a photo of me as Ramona Flowers and it says, 'I'm in lesbians with her,' " says Winstead, 39.

In the 2010 film, Winstead's character is the main love interest of Michael Cera's titular Scott, who believes the "L-word" means "lesbians" and, near the end of the movie, tells Ramona, "I'm in lesbians with you."

Winstead adds of McGregor with a laugh, "Sometimes when we're out and about, he'll take off his sweater and that's the shirt he's wearing. It makes me so happy."

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off follows a similar story as the film, with an official description reading, "Scott Pilgrim meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, only to find out her seven evil exes stand in the way of their love."

The star-studded voice cast also includes Michael Cera as the titular Scott Pilgrim, Ellen Wong as Knives Chau, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Brie Larson as Envy Adams, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Mae Whitman as Roxy Richter and more.

They all reprise their live-action roles from the film, which was directed by Edgar Wright and based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic-novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

"I don't know who else could've voiced any of these characters," Wong tells PEOPLE. "It would've felt like such a foreign thing. It just wouldn't have made any sense, and it just feels so right that we were all back to who we were."

She adds of coming back to Scott Pilgrim again after 13 years, "[It's like] when you have that high-school reunion or something — it's like these people that were there in your formative years, and now we're all back together again."

As for Winstead and McGregor, 52, the pair met on the set of the FX series Fargo in late 2016, when they both joined the cast during season 3, playing each other's love interests.

In 2021, the couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Laurie, after nearly four years of dating. A year later, they tied the knot in April 2022.

The two have both appeared in the Star Wars universe, with McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi since 1999 and, more recently, Winstead as Hera Syndulla in the Ahsoka series on Disney+.

Now, Winstead and McGregor are back to work following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike on their upcoming Paramount+ series A Gentleman in Moscow, which the actress calls "a beautiful show to get to work on together" with her husband.

"We're very excited for that to come out eventually. And now we'll figure out what comes next one day at a time," she says.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is now streaming on Netflix.
