The Witcher’s fourth season adds some interesting new names to the post-Henry-Cavill era. Gillian Anderson is open to Scully’s return in the new X-Files reboot. Plus, what’s coming on Yellowjackets, and our first look at Librarians sequel. To me, my spoilers!

The Fantastic Four

An update from Deadline’s Justin Kroll notes that, given the Silver Surfer’s role in the film, it’s “obvious” that Galactus is indeed expected to be the main villain of The Fantastic Four—and casting is still underway for the role.

Untitled Michael B. Jordan Vampire Movie

Deadline reports Delroy Lindo will star alongside Michael B. Jordan and Jack O’Connell in Ryan Coogler’s currently untitled “vampire” project at Warner Bros. According to a new synopsis, the story is “set in the Jim Crow-era South, and possibly involves both vampires and Southern supernatural traditions. Jordan may be playing dual roles — as twin brothers.” The outlet additionally notes Lindo’s role is rumored to have “a musical element to it,” while Jack O’Connell is confirmed to play the film’s villain.

The Blob

During a recent interview with Comic Book, the producer of David Bruckner’s upcoming remake of The Blob, Keith Levine, discussed his love for Chuck Russell’s 1988 remake.

Well, I personally am very excited about – because another one of these ‘my parents are out movies’ that I’m watching at a young age is The Blob - which we’re doing at Warner Brothers, also with [Hellraiser director] David Bruckner...The Chuck Russell movie just, as a kid, it f*cked me up big time.

There’s this movie theater scene towards the end of it where these kids sneak out and they go to the movies and then they get killed by the blob...I think that was the first time I had seen kids my age die. I was watching all these horror movies. It was always about teenagers and older people, and I think I was like, ‘It never felt like me,’ but that movie, just because of that scene, really, really, really terrorized me. So very excited to dive into that world and honor the practical effects, the tactile feel of it. We’re just excited about all the possibilities there.

The Joker: Folie a Deux

According to Deadline, The Joker: Folie a Deux has been rated “R” for “some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity.”

Mufasa: The Lion King

The Hollywood Handle has our first look at the upcoming Lion King prequel focusing on Mufasa’s secret origins.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood

TV Insider reports Peter Mullan, Sara Vickers, Brian McCardie and Jhon Lumsden have joined the cast of the upcoming Outlander prequel series, Blood of My Blood. Mullan will play Red Jacob MacKenzie, “laird of Clan MacKenzie, father to Ellen, Dougal and Colum, and maternal grandfather to Jamie Fraser. Vickers is Davina Porter, “a housekeeper in the Lovat household, mother to Brian Fraser, and Jamie’s paternal grandmother. McCardie has been cast as Isaac Grant, “laird of Clan Grant,” while Lumsden rounds out the cast as Malcolm Grant, “Isaac’s son and a potential suitor for Ellen.”

The Witcher

Meanwhile, Variety reports Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy and Danny Woodburn have joined the cast of The Witcher’s fourth season. Copley will play “the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart,” while Purefoy is said to be Skellen, “a high-ranking spy and court advisor to Emhyr. Woodburn will play Zoltan, “a fan favorite dwarf character from the novels and video games.”

The X-Files

During her recent appearance on Today (via TV Line), Gillian Anderson suggested Dana Scully could potentially “pop in for a little somethin’-somethin’” in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming reboot of The X-Files.

I’m not saying no, because I think he’s really cool. And I think if he did it, it probably would be done incredibly well. Maybe I’ll pop in for a little somethin’-somethin.’

Yellowjackets

Elsewhere, Sophie Nélisse provided Comic Book with an update on the third season of Yellowjackets, as well as its promised “bonus episode” bridging season two and three.

Yeah, we start in like a month. Yeah, we go back to Vancouver in a month. I have my apartment there. We haven’t read any scripts. I don’t know anything. I wish I could tell you spoilers. I don’t have any.

No, I haven’t been able to see [the bonus episode.] We weren’t there when they were shooting and we were all back home. So I don’t know anything that happened. I mean, I read the script. It’s a great script. It’s super cool. But I haven’t seen it. I wish they would have shown us a special little screening, but no, we don’t have any.

The Librarians: The Next Chapter

TV Line has our first look at Bluey Robinson, Olivia Morris, Callum McGowan and Jessica Green in The Next Chapter, the CW’s upcoming sequel series to TNT’s The Librarians.
