Marvel Studios’ ongoing Jonathan Majors problem will reportedly get even bigger with Loki‘s upcoming Season 2 finale.

A new report from our sister publication Variety details how Marvel is navigating — among other recent woes — Majors’ ongoing legal trouble. The actor was arrested in March on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment after an alleged domestic dispute. He is now set to go to trial on Nov. 29 but has pleaded not guilty to the four charges (assault, attempted assault, harassment and aggravated harassment) brought against him.

The incident came as Majors’ presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was only growing, having debuted as He Who Remains in Loki‘s freshman finale and later arrived as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Though Majors has since been dropped from other projects in the wake of his arrest, Marvel Studios has yet to indicate if it will reduce or recast Majors’ burgeoning role in the MCU. And as one source tells Variety, Majors will stay in the spotlight in Loki‘s Season 2 finale (dropping Thursday, Nov. 9 on Disney+), which reportedly sets the stage in a big way for the 2026 film Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, currently slated to star Majors.

“Marvel is truly f—ked with the whole Kang angle,” the insider said of Loki‘s forthcoming season finale. “And they haven’t had an opportunity to rewrite until very recently [because of the WGA strike]. But I don’t see a path to how they move forward with him.” (TVLine has reached out to Disney+ for comment.)

Majors has already popped up in Loki‘s sophomore run — not as Kang the Conqueror or He Who Remains, but as Victor Timely, a Kang variant. In Episode 4 of the season (spoiler alert!), Victor died after getting exposed to high levels of temporal radiation; it’s not yet clear how any of Majors’ many characters will appear in the season’s remaining two episodes.
