Yeun was attached to Thunderbolts in February 2023, though Marvel did not officially announce his casting. But on Jan. 2, news broke that the Oscar-nominated actor was departing the project centering on Marvel’s villains and antiheroes.

Thunderbolts was hit by delays due to the writers and actors strikes of 2023, with its release date pushed a year to July 25, 2025. The film has a cast that includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Jake Schreier is directing the feature, which has not yet begun filming.

Pullman, who is the son of actor Bill Pullman, played Lt. Robert “Bob” Floyd in Top Gun: Maverick, the $1.5 billion box office juggernaut. Other notable credits include Bad Times at the El Royale and the TV series Outer Range. He recently starred in Lessons in Chemistry, opposite Marvel star Brie Larson, where he played her character’s love interest, chemistry researcher Calvin Evans.

The genre-centric journalist Daniel Richtman first reported Pullman’s casting. The actor is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
