Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Final Trailer: No ‘Daredevil’ In Season 2, Lots Of Blood

If Frank Castle’s first appearance in Season 2 of Daredevil and Season 1 of Marvel’s The Punisher taught us anything it is that no one leaves a trail of carnage behind like the ruthless vigilante played by Jon Bernthal.

Today, just over one week before the second season of one of the last two Marvel series on Netflix launches, the latest trailer shows the body count has risen and the villains are more crazed than ever.

“I dream about the Punisher every night,” says one of those villains, the returning Billy Russo AKA Jigsaw in the comics and portrayed by Ben Barnes in the new look at the new season. “He thinks he has the right to judge me,” adds Castle’s former friend and betrayer who was left for near dead with his face smashed in glass last season. “I want him to feel what I felt.”

There’s sadly no Daredevil in Season 2 it seems, but, as today’s bloody and bullet strewn trailer also reveals, Giorgia Whigham and Shooter alum Josh Stewart are vibrant new additions to the Punisher family. We see Amber Rose Revah and Jason R. Moore back again too. Not seen in the new trailer are Corbin Bernsen and Annette O’Toole, who also have joined the series.

As we await the new season and the third season of that other remaining Marvel series on the streamer Jessica Jones, no word if they’ll be a Season 3 of The Punisher down the line. However, with more episodes of Iron Fist, Luke Cage and the Man Without Fear already cancelled by Netflix, this upcoming cycle of Frank Castle’s saga could be his swan song.

The Punisher is executive produced by Steve Lightfoot along with Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix, for now.

Or as Benthal’s Punisher says ominously in the trailer above, “Let me be what I’m meant to be.” Yes sir.
