Marvel Is Hosting a 27-Hour Marathon of Every 'Avengers'-Related Movie

Want to brush up on every Marvel movie ever made before seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron? Do you love the idea of not moving your body for 27 straight hours? Then do we have the reasonably priced group-outing for you!

Marvel Studios has announced that on April 29th and April 30th, every single one of its films since 2008’s Iron Man will play in a marathon session at participating AMC, Regal Theaters, and Cinemark, the three biggest cinema chains in the United States.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. on April 29th with Iron Man, and then follow with The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Alas, if you want to watch such pre-Downey Jr. duds like Daredevil or Elektra, you’ll have to bring a portable DVD player and camp out in a bathroom stall in between screenings; this is only for movies within the current Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity under the watch of Kevin Feige.

After Groot and Co. are done fighting up in the cosmos, fans who have stuck it out through the entire marathon will get to watch an early screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

That’s 11 movies in total, nearly all of which include at least a little bit of screen time for Samuel L. Jackson. Imagine, nearly 29 full hours of Samuel L. Jackson — and all for just $65 in total! It’s an even better deal than when Marvel did this back in 2012 ahead of the first Avengers film, which cost $40 for six movies. Studios have been using this marathon screening session as a way to hype franchise sequels for a while now, including a huge Harry Potter movie marathon held by AMC Theaters back in 2011.

Of course, snacks are not included in the $65 Marvel ticket (though Cinemark seems to have some decent deals for the event). Hopefully, the theaters decide to sell shawarma for the occasion.
