Marvel's 'Cloak & Dagger' first trailer revealed

Marvel Cloak and Dagger first trailer released

During Freeform’s 2017 Upfront presentation, the network released a number of trailers for its upcoming series, starting with a first look at the hotly anticipated Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.

The show, set to premiere its 10 episodes in early 2018, tells the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers with newly acquired superpowers that are somehow linked to each other. Joe Pokaski (Heroes) serves as showrunner, with Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory (Marvel’s The Defenders) as executive producers.

Earlier in the day, Marvel announced five new characters for another of Freeform’s upcoming series, New Warriors. Get the scoop on that here.

Freeform also debuted the trailer for new drama Siren (previously titled The Deep), which takes viewers to Bristol Cove, a coastal town known for its history. (Spoiler: It was once home to mermaids... and might still be.) The series follows Ben (Alex Roe), a marine biologist who meets Ryn (Eline Powell), a mysterious new girl in town with a deep - think deep sea - secret. The drama is based on a story by Eric Walk and Dean White, who serve as executive producers with Emily Whitesell (Finding Carter) on board as showrunner. Siren is set to premiere in summer 2018.

Next up, Freeform is giving viewers a first look at Alone Together, the half-hour comedy from The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer). Set to premiere in early 2018, Alone Together stars Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo as best friends trying to be accepted into the culture of Los Angeles.

And finally, the network released a full trailer for its new series The Bold Type, which premieres Tuesday, July 11 at 9 p.m. ET and follows the people responsible for producing Scarlet, a global women’s magazine. The Bold Type comes from executive producers Sarah Watson, David Bernad, Ruben Fleischer, Victor Nelli Jr., and Joanna Coles.
