Martin Shkreli One Step Closer to Losing Wu-Tang and Lil Wayne Albums in Latest Legal Blow

A judge has ruled he must give up $7.36 million

A U.S. District court has ruled former pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli must give up $7.36 million, as recommended by federal prosecutors late last year, Reuters reports. The ruling comes following Shkreli’s securities fraud conviction, which was handed down in August. The list of assets the prosecutors said Shkreli could give up to pay the amount includes the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, purchased for a reported $2 million in 2015, as well as a copy of Lil Wayne’s unreleased album Tha Carter V.

Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Shkreli and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for further comment.
