Martin Lawrence's comedy tour coming to Nationwide Arena on Sept. 21

Comedian-actor Martin Lawrence, known for his eponymous TV sitcom and movies like the "Bad Boys" franchise, hits the road this summer on his "Y'all Know What It Is! Tour," with a stop in Columbus.

Lawrence, along with special guests D.C. Young Fly, Benji Brown and Daphnique Springs, performs at Nationwide Arena on Sept. 21. This is a return visit for the comic, who came to Columbus in 2020 and 2011.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com.

Lawrence, who started his comedy career at The Improv in New York, had his film breakthrough in Spike Lee's 1989 comedy-drama "Do the Right Thing." Other roles soon came in films such as "House Party" and "Boomerang," catching the eye of producing mogul Russell Simmons, who chose Lawrence to host the HBO series "Def Comedy Jam."

In 1992, Lawrence landed the hit series "Martin," followed by more movies including "Life," "Big Momma's House" and the "Bad Boys" comedies with Will Smith. He'll return to the franchise with "Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die," which premieres worldwide June 7.
