The 31-year-old from Denver opens up about her fluid sexual identity in PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek of the season 17 premiere

Married at First Sight’s newest star Lauren is ready to find her forever love!

In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the season 17 premiere, the 31-year-old Denver resident opens up about her fluid sexual identity and the type of person she ultimately wants to settle down with.

“Yes, I'm young, I'm wild, I'm free. But I’m also a certified lover girl,” Lauren says in the clip during a confessional interview.

“I’m not really big on labels, but I would say if I had to identify as anything, it would be queer or maybe even just be a floater,” she tells cameras.

Continuing, Lauren explains, "I’m a little bit more attracted to, in theory, the safety a man provides, the strength a man provides, the bravado."

“I’ll always be attracted to women, I’ll always be attracted to men even outside my husband, let’s just be real," she concludes. "But I’ll be committed to my husband always. I’m monogamous.”

Lauren reiterated her stance in another premiere teaser clip obtained by Entertainment Tonight last week, in which she says, “I love men. I enjoy women, but I really just want to be married to a man."

Elsewhere in the video, her new partner Orion shares how he would feel if his partner were attracted to more than one gender.

“If my potential spouse identified as queer, it wouldn't bother me,” he says. “In Navajo tribes, we have a coming of two souls, masculine and feminine. I have explored that feminine side when it came to going on a date with a man, but that was also like the door where it was like, 'I'm not gay.' You know, things like that.”

Adds Orion, “I feel like if you don't explore those, or you don't explore your own curiosity, it’s just too binding.”

PEOPLE exclusively debuted the season 17 cast and trailer late last month. In addition to Lauren and Orion, the other couples include Emily and Brennan, Clare and Cameron, Becca and Austin and Michael, whose mystery bride is not named.

While the upcoming installment will follow the couples in Denver, Colorado, as they tie the knot, honeymoon and move in together, it will also show them trying different activities together to bond, such as rock climbing, a NSFW Planetarium class, mezcal tasting and an aura reading.

But like always, the couples will have to decide whether they want to stay together or get divorced at the end of the eight-week social experiment.

The newlyweds will also receive professional advice from Pastor Cal and Dr. Pepper, along with Dr. Pia, who joins the show as a full-time expert, as they support the couples for what comes after they say “I do.”
