‘Marlon’ Renewed for Season 2 at NBC

NBC is bringing back “Marlon.”

The network has renewed Marlon Wayans’ loosely autobiographical sitcom for a second season. “Marlon,” which aired its Season 1 finale earlier this month, stars Wayans as a devoted father of two who maintains a friendly relationship with his ex-wife.

Essence Atkins, Bresha Webb, Diallo Riddle, Notlim Taylor and Amir O’Neil round out the cast.

Christopher Moynihan is the show’s writer and executive producer. Wayans, Rick Alvarez and Michael Rotenberg also executive produce.

“Marlon” was the summer’s most-watched new scripted series on broadcast, thanks in part to a coveted “America’s Got Talent” lead-in. The comedy hails from Universal Television, Bicycle Path Productions, Baby Way Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment.
