Marlena Lerner Follows in Her Father’s Footsteps, Premieres Debut ‘Tails’

Marlena Lerner, daughter of producer Avi Lerner, chairman and founder of Nu Image and Millennium Films, had planned on following in her father’s footsteps from an early age.

When she was 9, Lerner began to write, direct and act in her own web series called “The 3 Tails,” a story about high school girls with magical powers to turn into mermaids. The show became a quick hit on YouTube, gathering almost 19 million hits. Now Lerner just world premiered her film, “The 3 Tails: A Mermaid Adventure” Nov. 6 at the recent International Family Film Festival.

In the film, the three girls are abducted for their secret; the story also focuses a lot on the environment and clean oceans, which Lerner has a passion for.

Lerner said that she’s been involved in creating content “since I was 2 years old and it is a big part of my life.” she said.

Her father’s eye for movies is what Lerner would love to develop the most.

“When he watches the film the way that he sees it he knows exactly whats wrong and how to criticize it and how to make it better,” she said.
