Mark Zuckerberg’s 40th Birthday Included Nostalgia – and Getting ‘Roasted,’ Says Wife Priscilla Chan

"Let’s just say that no one suffered from a lack of material!" Chan joked about the roast

Mark Zuckerberg is celebrating turning 40!

To commemorate his milestone birthday, the Meta CEO and his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, both made posts on Instagram to highlight the big May 14 occasion.

In a lengthy caption on Instagram, Chan noted that her husband was "roasted" during the celebration, but it was a great time to reflect on all the years they have been together.

"Mark doesn't usually let me go big for his birthday but for his 40th I was allowed to throw a bash as long our friends and family also roasted him. We all had a blast! Let’s just say that no one suffered from a lack of material!" Chan quipped.

She added, "Jokes aside, as I reflect on the 21 of Mark's birthdays we have spent together, one of my favorite things about Mark is how he really, truly believes in people. He sees the potential in all of us. I have no idea what adventures are coming next, but I’m here for all of them. Here’s to many more."

Chan was not the only one waxing nostalgic over turning the big 4-0, as Zuckerberg shared that his wife threw a "little party and recreated a bunch of places I lived in the early days."

Those locations included his childhood bedroom, his Harvard dorm room, his first apartment and the office where he ultimately created Facebook.

This is just the latest milestone for the Meta CEO to celebrate, after marking Facebook's 20th birthday in February.

“20 years ago I launched a thing,” he wrote in one social media tribute. “Along the way, lots of amazing people joined and we built some more awesome things. We're still at it and the best is yet to come.”

Although he may be responsible for creating viral moments through his social media platforms, Zuckerberg recently found himself right at the center of his own viral moment courtesy of an AI-generated photo of him sporting a beard.

The instantly viral photo even garnered a response from Zuckerberg, asking “Okay, who did this?” Later he teased followers with a photo of himself with a razor alongside the thinking emoji.

Even Zuckerberg’s wife got in on the online uproar, sharing the same viral photo on her Instagram Stories and joking, “Anyone seen my husband???”

"And who is this guy?” she added.
