Mark Wahlberg's and Will Ferrell's morning workout routines are very different

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell went abs-to-ab when the cast of Daddy’s Home 2 visited Conan at the Apollo Theater in New York City Thursday. After doing three films together, it was clear that the actors have established a great rapport with each other. So, when Conan asked Ferrell what Wahlberg was like behind the scenes, Ferrell had no problem letting everyone in on the secret behind those rock hard abs. “I think Mark Wahlberg is the perfect human being. He gets up at 2:30 in the morning, he works out,” shared Ferrell. He continued, “Goes through any scripts he has to work on. He rides around his neighborhood. He saves cats out of trees. He does more before 7:00 a.m. than most people do in a lifetime.”

Wahlberg then explained why he has to get up so early. “I work out in the morning, then I do my reading, writing. I do a lot of prayer time for Will, because he needs it. I usually play 18 holes about 6:30 and then I’m home and help my wife with the kids. I have a lot to do before everyone else starts their day.” To be clear, most people aren’t like Walhberg. Most people are more like Ferrell, who said, “I wake up at 8 a.m., have a nice bowel movement, go right back to bed.” Ferrell and Wahlberg’s workout routines are, clearly, very different. So, later in the show, when Conan put up separate pictures of the two in their underwear side by side, showing young Marky Mark’s rock hard abs and Ferrell’s just one ab, it all totally made sense.

Conan airs weeknights at 11 on TBS.
