Mark Wahlberg remembers James Caan: ‘I literally called him The Dream’

Mark Wahlberg swung by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Thursday, to promote his new comedy Me Time. He also opened up about his former The Yards co-star James Caan, who suffered a fatal heart attack earlier in the month.

“The first time I worked with him, he goes, ‘You know I'm a dream to work with, right?’” Wahlberg recalled. “And then I literally called him ‘The Dream’ ever since.”

Not only did the two actors work together on set, they also became friends off set. Wahlberg regularly attended Caan’s annual charity golf tournament and the passing of the legendary actor impacted his friend.

“It just puts things into perspective,” said Wahlberg. “I mean, life goes by so short. So everybody, people, friends, getting older, reach out to them, tell them you love them. Stay as close and connected as possible.”
